2 games stick out in my mind as far as comebacks, one in 08, one in 09. Chiefs, then G-men, both games on the road and we looked dead in the water...Aside from that, we have done nothing but blow 2nd half, and more importantly 4th quarter leads. I just have no confidence in PR right now.

I think it very unlikely that Brady is still playing in 2017. He doesn't strike me as a Favre type. Houston has an extremely talented TE, and one of the best RBs in the league, and yes, Johnson is a true #1 receiver who demands double teams and takes the top off the coverage.

NY isn't about Cruz, it's about Cruz combined with Hicks, and now this season Martellus Bennet also.

Baltimore isn't just Torrey Smith, it's Smith, Bolden, and their TE whose name escapes me (he was drafted the same year as Gronk).

NE has not only Welker and Gronk, but they also have Hernandez. Also, how is 28 receptions for 328 yds "non-existent"? That's on pace for a 1000 yd receiving season!

I'll give you NO as being roughly equal, rather than wildly better.

As for ATL, you can't be serious. Ryan plays with a lot of poise, and he makes tough throws, but he's throwing to the best receiving corps in the league, bar none. He's got 2 number 1 receivers, a very high quality 3rd receiver, and a 1st ballot HOF TE who, in spite of his age, is still playing at a very high level, injury free.

Comparing our receiving corps to any of these teams', other than maybe NO, is simply preposterous. Also, the Bold you wrote is silly.

I know that Phil hasn't played elite over the last two years.. Does that make you mad?

His play was rather elite in 2010. Not really his fault that we lost several games that year due to Steve Crosby possessing pictures of Spanos fapping to Gay Horse Porn.

    Gates>>>Daniels
Mathews has potential to be a Foster if he can hang onto the ball..
Gates gets double, if not triple teamed the vast majority of the time...More-so than AJ (this season)..

Put Meachem/Royal/Floyd/Gates with Eli and give us Hicks, Cruz, Bennett.. BET you our group is more productive.. We have the talent, the ball is just not getting there.

Last year we had Vincent Jackson, Malcolm Floyd, Ryan Mathews, Gates (tho hobbled), and Vincent Brown.. That's PLENTY of fire power, yet..What did phil get done?

We have more talent than people think.

I'm not mad at all and I'm not pretending to "KNOW" what the problem is. I do know that River's is considered in the Elite group by the pros, I also know that Schottenheimer wanted him, whom I considered a QB killer even before he came to the Bolt's. While River's has played butt arse poorly on occasion, all the undoings of this offense do not lie squarely on his shoulders.

improvement is irrelevant. You're saying that it's been two seasons. The calendar says that it hasn't, and I'm pointing that out to you, unless of course you're moving at speeds approaching that of light, in which case it may very well have been 2 years for you.

I agree. I think a new HC would do wonders for this team. Rivers has been doing some some things the past two years that I feel has been influenced by Norv. Not intentionally but as a by product as Norv is trying to get PR to do something that he hasn't done. Achilles heal is Norv.

QPR cannot be taken too seriously, case in point: Brees is below Rivers (amongst others in which he is better than).

I am talking about when it comes crunch time, which QB rises to the occasion. I haven't seen Phil do it since 09ish. Hope he gets it going soon.

Brees being better again is only your opinion, won- loss record proves otherwise. I know, I know it's not Brees fault it's everyone else around him. It's all River's fault because he's not Brees.

So what is it? Rivers should be held accountable and its his fault that Norv Turner is back because he stood up for him? ....or Rivers doesn't like or respect Norv, and Rivers is a poor sport baby?

This isn't directed at Rickochey, but those two asinine arguments have been made in ChargersVille very recently

I don't get it, are players not allowed to disagree with their coach, or if they can, do they have to wait til after the game to vent their frustrations? Maybe we should stop pretending we know what's said in conversations on the sidelines?

It doesn't matter what I think, in fact, I don't think any of them are better than the others these guys all fit in their space and time and how things worked out around them. On your premise both Eli and Big Ben are better than both Brees and River's as they have two Lombardi's each. I say it's just the right fit at the right time because they all know how to play the game. By the way, why is a Saint's fan like you worried about River's performance anyway???

I will have to disagree as I find your statements are basically based off of SB wins. Fouts, Marino, Cunninham, Flutie, etc never won the SB (as starters). According to your statement you are also saying that talent has nothing to do with it. Really? Manning, Elway, Montana, Brady, are as equal as Leaf, Cassel, J Russell,.......

I don't even know where to begin or to even bother with this.

Matt Ryan, Matt Schaub, Andrew Luck, RG3, Matt Stafford, Andy Dalton and Christian Ponder all have one thing in common. 0 PLAYOFF WINS.

Thats that. I could throw Jay Cutler in there too, he has 1 PLAYOFF WIN.

Let me tell you something Brady, Rodgers, Eli & Peyton Manning, and Roethlisburger - who all have rings, never did. Go into a AFC Championship game, away, in the snow, with torn anterior cruciate ligament and only losing by 9.

Taking nothing away from these guys but, Rodgers, E. Manning and Roethlisburger had some ELITE defenses when they won it. You can even make a case for P. Manning and Brady. Something Rivers has never really had in a playoff run.

But, I do believe, and I took this from an article I saw on google, Rivers has lost his late game mojo. Only time I remember Rivers throwing a game winning TD was here:

I'm in the camp that doesn't think a SB ring defines a QB's greatness, Marino and a few others come to mind ! I'd love to see Rivers ignore what Norv calls and just adjust & react to what he sees just before the snap;)

He actually had a good game against the Saints. It seems INT are apart of Norv's system of deep running WR(which we don't have outside Floyd) couple that with Rivers pet peeve of throwing in double coverage and you're gonna get INTs.

Rivers is Rivers. No need to think he's any other QB or vice versa. I think he'll heat up once we rack up some wins in November and December.

You're either straight up nuts or you're placing far too high a premium on "what might's"/potential which has yet to actual be merited. Stafford? Cutler? Robert "I don't know the first thing about pocket presence" Griffin"? You're ******** me, right?

Rivers has regressed (that's the proper term... digressed means something entirely different) slightly, but not so much as he has dropped below Joe "Captain Checkdown" Flacco. Ryan is starting to show that he might... might have a case to be ranked above Rivers this season, but he's yet to show any kind of consistency - and he's playing in a horribly pass-heavy offense right now (same reason it took until last season for Rodger to move above Rivers, as you can't judge a guy just strictly off his stats when one system throws at a far higher percentage of snaps than the other does).

The "true number 1" is literally a horseshit argument. Look at the QB's that you mentioned... Brees' #1 in terms of looks is Jimmy Graham, a TE. Brady's, if we go by last season, is Gronkowski... then Welker (hardly the prototypical #1 WR). Rodgers spreads the ball all over the place, and his leading receiver last season (Nelson) is his #3 guy at best this season. Eli has jumped back and forth between who is his #1... from Toomer to Nicks to Cruz to Nicks again except Nicks gets injured... Schaub has Andre Johnson, but he's on a run-first team and this is the first season AJ's managed to stay healthy past Week 5 in a long time. I'd argue that Calvin Johnson has stifled Matthew Stafford's development because Stafford became to "Randy Moss"-dependent on Megatron, in that he could just toss it up into triple coverage and trust Calvin to come down with it.

But all that aside, if you don't think that Antonio Gates is Rivers' true #1 then literally Where the EFF have you been? Vincent Jackson, when he was here, despite fitting the "stereotype" mold of a "#1 prototype WR", was never the #1 guy in the offense unless Gates was injured. In all honesty, Rivers was more careless when VJ was in the offense than VJ actually compensated for Rivers' carelessness, so I really don't see where the argument that Rivers MUST HAVE a "true #1 WR" has any merit.
