    Belichick just was shown in his press conference on the NFL Channel. I missed the first part, but afterwards, the hosts said he announced Rodney Harrison will not play vs. the Chargers.

    That sucks. I would love to see Gates matched up on Harrison much like John Lynch (prison sex).

    This is our entire second half of the season, with the best opponent TE (by that game performance) listed. Only Scheffler has a good game in ONE of the two Denver matchups.

    Week 17 - AZ - L. Pope - 2 catches 40 yards

    Week 16 - SEA - J. Stevens - 2 catches 24 yards

    Week 15 - KC - T. Gonzalez - 6 catches 53 yards

    Week 14 - DEN - T. Scheffler - 3 catches 66 yards (2 TDs)
    Note: One was a fluke catch that should have been an INT.

    Week 13 - BUFF - R. Royal - 1 catch 5 yards

    Week 12 - OAK - R. Williams - 4 catches 29 yards

    Week 11 - DEN - Stephanie - 1 catch 4 yards

    Week 10 - CIN - R. Kelly - 3 catches 31 yards

    Thanks, you beat me to it. We had a bit of trouble with Heap and Gonzales earlier in the year, but in the latter half of the season we've been solid against TEs.

    Sure we have done good against Tes the2nd half of the season, but really only Gonzo and Sheffler are good and they both had good games

    But if you look at the season as a whole, we have played 4 good TEs

    Heap - 60 yards 1 TD
    Gonzo - 138 yards (game 1), 53 yards (2nd)
    Winslow - 78 yards
    Scheffler - 66 yards 2 TDs

    The Browns dinked and dunked to Winslow all game. 11 catches, all underneath curls and outs. Nothing that used his speed. Big deal.

    Gonzo had a good game in our first matchup. He was just average (and below his standards) in the 2nd.

    Scheffler is the only one in the 2nd half who had a good game, and as I said, one of those TD's (the long one) should have been an INT.

    You made a blanket statement and were wrong. You're still wrong.

    Dink and dunk all you want, winslow still did what he needed. He played within their offense

    Only reason gonzo struggled in the 2nd half of the season is because herm edwards is a moron and refused to bench green who was horrible this year. And even with green he was still getting it done in the 2nd game

    Schefflers second catch might of been a fluke, but it still happened. Say what ever you want, but Scheffler still had a great game and scored twice in a minute. I dont what the situation was, he got it done. Let me ask you, you think if we redo that play, does KIEL come down with it? I really dont think he would

    Good TEs have done good against us

    Alot of those Winslow catches were after the game was out of reach. If the Pats try and use Watson as their possession guy, they are really in trouble. He's the only guy that could go down the middle of the field for them.

    Sorry, but a game against Cleveland when we were without Merriman and Phillips doesn't really concern me, since both of those guys will be playing Sunday. Sheffler had a couple of really nice catches against us, and one that was just pure dumb luck. Sometimes the opponent makes a play, but TEs were not consistently gashing us all year for big yards.

    Winslow vs SD - 11/78 = 7.1 ypc

    Winslow - 2006 - 89/875 = 9.8 ypc

    Dink and dunk.

    You might be able to argue that TE's had 4 good games vs. SD. One by Heap, one by Gonzo, one by Scheffler, and pulling hairs adding Winslow.

    I wouldn't add Winslow's in there, but even if one does, that's still only 4 out of 16 games (25% of the season).

    Gonzo had a bad game vs SD by his standards in the rematch. Seattle's Jeremy Stevens?

    Good TE's have done average to below average vs. the Chargers. One big game by Gonzo and one above average game by Heap does not a trend make.

    Apparently, your literacy needs some work. The TE's were listed as those who were most productive against us for each individual game. Of those listed, Pope and Scheffler are rookies, and while their talent has potential .... they're still just rookies and are inconsistent. In no way shape or form is B. Watson better than Gonzo. You can't be that stupid, can you?

    The only 3 TE's in the top 30 overall in reception yardage:

    Antonio Gates SD 71 924 13.0 9
    Tony Gonzalez KC 73 900 12.3 5
    Kellen Winslow CLE 89 875 9.8 3

    Watson ranks below the Browns motorcycle test track crash dummy. The only "good" stat is his yards per catch, which is a full yard higher than the Pats so-called #1 WR - Ricochet Caldwell.

    Ben Watson NE 49 643 13.1 3

    Now go look for used condoms in your Mom's room. Troll.

    Save it for the guys with less rep. Spread, spread, spread .....

    Playoff vs. Jets - 4 catches, 24 yards

    Yep .... he's a stud.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I find all this love from Pats fans for Caldwell pretty amusing ......
    2006 - Ricochet Caldwell
    6 games with 50+ receiving (84, 90, 70, 57, 112, 134) plus the playoff game vs. NYJ (5 catches, 50 yards).
    His lowest yards per catch of the last three seasons.
    8 games with 25 yards or less receiving (14, 20, 5, 22, 21, 12, 25, 15). He disappears more than he shows up.
    Pats fans might point out that 2 of his last 5 games were his best, but 3 of his last five games were awful (12, 25, 15).
    And, of course, 2 fumbles on the season. He'll have another this Sunday.
    The last game, and future indicators for performance (along with a full season of stats) are more important than one game. Didn't you follow the discussion? Or are you limited in thought process and coherence like the rest of your fellow Patsie fans?
    How about that Ben Watson?
    Ron Borges - Boston Globe - Chat
    Ben Watson is "just a guy" ..... and a less than 100% "just a guy." He shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath with Pro Bowlers like Gates and Gonzo. Watson is another "name" for the Patsies that will be a non-factor in Sunday's game.
    There was no "change in conversation" dumbass.
    It was a follow up on the flow of discussion on Ben Watson. A single post was added for more veracity into the detailing of Watson's limited production.
    Don't care what you were talking about, I was responding to a certain post you made .
    This one>
    ^ In which you were judging Watson on 1 game . Now, do I think that Watson is better than Gonzo & Gates? No .
    I could post the horrible game Gates had vs the Browns & state that Watson is better than Gates but that would make me look like a dumbass because only a dumbass would judge a player on a single game . Agree?
