McNeill will miss tomorrow night's exhibition game against the Seattle Seahawks, but the Chargers are cautiously optimistic he will play in the final exhibition Sept. 1 at San Francisco.

McNeill's fourth metacarpal was fractured when he was struck on the hand by another player's helmet Wednesday. He suffered a similar injury to his right hand last season at Auburn and finished the season without surgery.</blockquote>
