    From the 'some things never change' dept:
    Matt Leinart announces his release by the Buffalo Bills
    "Tough game. Tough situation. No excuses. (Thank) you to the Bills organization!" Leinart wrote Friday, before deleting the tweet.

    As of now only one i'm interested in is J'Marcus Webb, he'd be a nice upgrade over Starks and likely Harris

    Webb might be a bit of an upgrade over Harris and Starks. Not too big though. He gets eaten alive on National TV for some reason.

    Chargers have waived inside linebacker Phillip Dillard. Had eight tackles, 0.5 sacks this preseason. Practice squad eligible.

    I still to this day have no clue who the hell that is, apparently he was on our team last year as well????

    Well there goes Starks now they need to cut Whitehurst and Mcclain if they plan on releasing Meachem even then, it will be cutting it close salary cap wise IMO.

    They’re now down to 64, leaving 11 moves to make before tomorrow’s deadline.

    Someone made the suggestion on twitter. It's possible that he could be cut or going on a mini-vacation but I'm just reporting :).

    Respect to Chargers for cutting Max Starks w/o delay. But what is the holdup on Robert Meacham? If McCoy truly looking for best players ...

    The 11 guys that were just cut, were removed from the depth chart but Mcclain wasn't I guess we'll just have to wait for the official word from the chargers or a credible NFL insider.

    He certainly does. He quoted an anonymous source as saying Meachem was physically "broken". Usually anonymous sources are disgruntled employees IMO. He's saying Meachem can't gain separation, doesn't run good routes, etc. Acee is on a mission it appears to get rid of Meachem though I don't think he will succeed. Personally I think Acee is an Idiot IMO. Acee says Meachem can't get separation, doesn't run good routes, etc. yet he has only seen practice, by his own admission, I believe he said very minimal. He uses a lot of hearsay on his articles. Me personally don't believe somebody can be broken down at 28 that's just nonsense. IMO. Also those idiots that are saying Meachem needs to be cut don't understand that his Salary makes it at the very least VERY DIFFICULT to release him. IMO

    He would? He failed at both tackle spots and one guard spot for a Chicago offense that has a much more mobile QB than we do and who ran, this offseason, a nearly identical offensive scheme (high-percentage passing, West Coast varietal). He couldn't beat out a middle-of-the-road rookie for the RT gig.

    Harris may suck, but at this point he's at least familiar with the system, has some chemistry with guys on the line, and comes cheaper than Webb. I'd be more apt to take a chance on Zebrie Sanders - who still needs a year in the weight room - who the Bills waived and has at least worked a year under Coach D - even though he missed most of last season with hip injuries and only played sparingly this preseason on account of that. But really it's a case of comparing Sanders to Becton - neither is experienced (or strong) enough to be the emergency fall-back option.

    KA's role with the UT now is just to be controversial and stir up buzz - he's no longer indebted to sticking to the facts. If we release Meachem this season we effectively hamstring ourselves in being able to extend Butler prior to January or February - which I know the team would prefer not to do (though it's typically be McGuire's and Lil' Spanos' policy to take care of any extensions prior to the regular season starting) - because it would occupy a load of cap space that might otherwise be used to eat some of the cap-hit from any signing bonus given to DB56.

    Old news but;

    Chargers WR Robert Meachem suffered a concussion in Thursday night's preseason finale.

    The Chargers currently have seven wide receivers on their roster, and Meachem was already toward the back end of that group. The concussion may expedite his ticket out of San Diego despite a guaranteed base salary of $5 million.

    Here's one for you conspiracy theorists out there: Could Meachem's concussion be the result of "friendly fire"? (....this should be fun to watch!)
