Many Chargers informed today they've been cut. Thus far, with deadline 90 minutes away, Fozzy Whittaker not one of them, source says.

Chargers waived former Michigan center Dave Molk, a 2012 seventh-round pick, per source. Seems like good sign for Johnnie Troutman.

Chargers to announce cuts shortly. It appears Michael Harris (swing tackle), Rich Ohrnberger (C/G), Johnnie Troutman (G) form reserve O-line

Wouldn't be surprised if Telescope tried to grab a couple of Colt castoffs.

I'm surprised about Molk but maybe he doesn't fit what the team needs now and honestly it's nice to see Ohrnberger who can play multiple positions. That's what the OL seems to be all about; Ohrnberger can play G/C, Harris can play LT/RT, Troutman can conceivably play LG/RG. Makes sense. Wondering if Molk can be put on PS

I can see Telesco bringing in Nevis just to help that D line, but Ijalana is always hurt.

I would love to see the Chargers grab

    CB Terry Hawthorne
    LB Dontay Moch
    CB Antoine Winfield
OG Danny Watkins (can't be worse than Clary or Orhenberger)
    OG Jake Scott
    OLB Travis Long

I'm never voting against Richard Goodman again, I don't know how he does it outside maybe for injuries

I swear Jeromy Clary has the secret and apparently he chose to share it with Goodman

Well if Telescope finds someone on the waiver wire then someone has to go.

I like #37. Addae has some character, I don't think we have seen his full potential yet.

My guess is that some of those players will be gone or on PS when we get other cut players

    Starks got $160,000 from Chargers
Posted by Mike Florio on August 31, 2013, 5:47 PM EDT

While we wait for more cuts to come in, here’s the post script on tackle Max Starks‘ short stay in San Diego.

Signed on May 22, Starks received a $160,000 signing bonus.

Cut on August 30, Starks keeps every penny of it, and he can sign elsewhere with no offset.

The Chargers avoided a $1 million base salary by cutting Starks. The bigger issue was that Starks wasn’t getting it done.

Maybe now he can go back to Pittsburgh, which has gotten accustomed in recent years to tackles who can’t get it done.
