its Hacksaws page so take it for what its worth lol

    http://www.xtrasports1360.com/pages/sportswatch.html

…The San Diego Chargers have opened trade talks in attempts to deal out of the first round of Saturday's draft. XTRA-Sports has been told the Chargers are talking to the Atlanta Falcons, in a deal that would send the 27th pick to the Falcons for Atlanta's 2-second round picks, at 37-and-48. The Chargers would look at Texas running back Jamal Charles, Central Florida's Kevin Smith, Virginia Tech corner Brandon Flowers and North Carolina nose tackle Ken Balmer, who are all slipping down the board. NFL sources say the offensive tackles and the running backs the Chargers had targeted, are now all likely to be gone.

Yeah, maybe we can re-sign LoNeal and Junior Seau--a perennial pro bowler and a future HOFer--to one day contracts and then trade them to the Rams for the #2. If the Rams don't think it's enough, we can throw in Shane Olivea--whom we can re-sign for cheap. I think it makes perfect sense for both teams.

    Hacksaw's a homer, btw.

Not going to happen. The 27 pick is worth much less than 37+48. Try more like Atlanta's 48th pick and 68th pick or 34th pick and 103rd.

I said a bit ago Atlanta was a likely target to trade, but Idk, I'd almost prefer to get a two, a three and a four to just two twos.

Depends still heavily on who's avaliable at that pick - not to mention if Cherilus is there and the Chargers like him, they might just say no to trade and grab their RT

Yep. All depends on what's out there. keep in mind it's harder to make this team, so we'll definitely take quality over quantity. AJ loves his picks and will make quality choices either way.

Do you remember what it was like when Vick was drafted? Vick was supposed to be the most unique breed of NFL quarterback to ever surface. There was so much hype and excitement surrounding him... possibly more than any other prospect in NFL history. The guy was going to come into the league and do stuff unseen on the field... and he did to a certain extent. I would have taken Vick #1 overall if I knew I had a similar type of backup QB to replace him in case of injury. Vick will forever be a running back with a strong arm.

That's what you gotta look for now in a "dual-threat QB"... is the guy a

#1) Quarterback with running back skills
#2) Running back with quarterback skills

In the NFL you generally want consistency. The thing about Vick is that he could dominate one game and disappear the next. If you have a dominant defense you can be successful with a Vick-type QB. Vick would have been outstanding on a team like the Chicago Bears a couple of years ago.

I am still in love with Vick's arm. I think Vick threw the prettiest spiral in the NFL. Dude just struggled with accuracy and skipped too many passes.

Oh, I remember well. You're talking to a BIG VT fan here - and one who grew up in Surry County & knows the area where Vick is from quite well. I wanted Vick to do well for all of those reasons, but had my doubts about his skills translating to the NFL. Why? Because Vick isn't a particularly bright guy or good decision-maker. If I could see that, you would think that the "experts" would have seen it, too.

I'll agree - Vick has a great arm, but has an accuracy & touch issue. You can't always just sling it.

A little under-sized but very quick. Hard hitter, sure tackler. No character issues that I'm aware of. Has great range & is good in pass coverage. Brings his lunch pail to the field, i.e. a very hard worker & seems to have good football instincts/smarts. I'd rank him as a late second to mid-third pick.

I think Adibi can be a Will Witherspoon-type in the NFL.

That rumor would be +270 pts in our favor.

    Pick values:
    SD:
    (#27)1-27 = 680 pts

    ATL:
    (#34)2-3 = 560
    (#37)2-6 = 530
    (#48)2-17 = 420
    (#68)3-5 = 250

Unless ATL is desperate, they won't trade 2 #2s. The math doesn't add up.

#37 + #68 for #27 would be +100 pts in our favor and is doable if they want to move into the 1st rnd.

That does sound more plausible with one exception, if the Chargers sweeten the pot by throwing in picks from next years draft. Maybe throw in our 3rd and 4th next year plus our one this year?

Maybe we can get both two's and 4th??

Be aware that teams will be trying to get into position to draft Flacco, Brohm or Henne, all of which appear to be zooming up the charts, QB's are always in demand no matter how average they are, and I think these guys are pretty average, not that I am a scout or anything, but, if the Chargers could dangle their spot and one team in the early 2nd round area get desperate we could end up with a 2, 3 maybe another 6 or 7. As I stated before we could also dangle our 3 and 4 from next year to entice someone to overspend.

We need the quality depth at some key spots to withstand a SB run and be able to run the table after week 10!

    C'mon AJ....Dangle!!!!

Heard anything on Duane Brown or Eddie Royal??? Possibly becoming Bolts, I heard AJ is pretty high on VT players for some reason, heard DB was out here for an interview but not 100% sure.

Which chart are you using?? the new one or the old one???

Read my previous about possibly adding our 3 and 4th next year.

That they could do but I would rather they not start trading away picks again as we will be caught up in the same bind again next year. I would rather AJ try to dangle someone. Anyway, who knows what will occur. There will be lots of moving and shaking in this draft, I know it.

I'm trying not to get to excited about any trades. My only bit of a worry is if were stuck with just pick 27 we may have to reach for a player that we probably could get a bit later in the draft.

But as Buddy nix said. Yah got to have a team to dance with to do a trade.
