I just remember flying home from a major lame game in Jacksonville then returning to Qualcomm the following Sunday.
It was a quiet tailgating atmosphere. We were at 5-5 and there was no excitement anywhere. Trumpie got very little reaction out of his "Charge." Lightning did his Charger rally with very half assed reaction. This was something I wasn't used to seeing at all.

We ALL know where it went from there. We beat the Ravens pretty good and we went on undefeated BUT look at who we faced...
    Baltimore
    Kansas City
    Tennessee (very impressive)
    Detroit
    Denver
    Oakland
Besides Tennessee, not exactly tough teams to beat.

Well this Sunday will pretty much decide our season.
If we return to Qualcomm next Sunday at 5-5, that will be a start BUT the challenge will not be easy this time.
    Indianapolis
    Atlanta
    Oakland
    Kansas City
    Tampa Bay
    Denver

We'll see how our Chargers react this Sunday with their backs against the wall. Give us a reason to believe. :bolt:

We made it to the AFC Championship game last season and it took Rivers, Merriman, and Gates playing injured and LT being out entirely for us to get knocked out by an undefeated team.

I don't think same place as last year is really such a solid argument for us being in bad shape.

But, as you see, we'll see how they respond.

It is a bad place to be. Especially when everybody in your division sucks so bad and we lost so many games that we had no business losing.
Not to mention when the team is playing with even less passion and heart than last year's team and the remainder of the schedule is hard.

This season has been ALL about digging ourselves out of the hole.
Well we need to stop getting ourselves in the hole!!!

I'm not trying to pretend we're in great shape right now, I'm just saying that using the statement that we're "in the same place we were last season" doesn't really refelct the argument you're trying to make here, all things considered.

If Norv doesn't make the playoffs does he get swept away along with people like Rivera?

I hope so. I want a coach that will punch AJ in the moth and tell him to "STFU and do his own job!!!"

If that coach choses Rivera for his DC, great... But it will be the coach's decision and NOT AJ's!!!

I think that would be the final nail in the coffin for Norv ever being a HC anywhere. Well maybe he would have a chance at the High School level.

We have non Bolt fans that would rather Norv be fired than we win. Makes me so happy to be from San Diego.

I am only speaking as to what I read. I have not implicated anyone nor do I intend too. They know who they are, I don't have to point them out.

Its the kind of folks that cares more about winning and getting to the SB and less about the reputation of the coach that certain people in here are in LOVE with.

Its not about Norv failing its about the team winning games and at least having a shot at going to the show. If the team was playing an inspired game with heart and soul, feelings would be different. I don't think the players are inspired by their coach bottom line.

Sometimes no matter what the coach has done successfully they will not jive with the team. Norv don't jive with the team!!!!!!!!!! it shows in how they play.

I don't care who is the HC, I will root for my Bolt's to the bitter end. It's the team not the personalities I root for.

Head on dude, whichever way you wish to go. Makes no difference to me.:icon_toast:

I was going to break down some film from last week's steelers and chargers games. Come up with some hard hitting analysis on how the outcome of the game will be decided. Pinpoint all of the weaknesses and strengths of each team. It would have been awesome...

...but then I thought: "F/uck it. I don't thing they're working that hard... why should I?"

I hope they prove me wrong tomorrow.

If they do, I won't have another disparaging word the rest of the season.

    Good luck with that!

So basically now you have moved on from you hate Norv to telling AJ he is doing a piss poor job!? You are telling me you are going to tell a GM who single handedly turned a franchise around that we need a coach to add distention to the ranks? Yeah, that is f-in brilliant man .. You are a genius! I had no f-in idea.

    Sigh!

You miss points like Padres bats miss pitches.
AJ is awesome as a GM. Meaning picking draft picks and free agent pick ups BUT he needs to leave coaches alone and let them do their job.

WHY IS THAT SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND?!!!! :icon_shrug: :icon_shrug: :icon_shrug:

Nobody said that. We ALL want the Chargers to succeed.
Some of us just feel that Norv was not a good pick up.

BOTTOM LINE... THERES NORVYS AND THERES CHARGERS FANS!!!!

    I don't get this......

The team and the HC can not be seperated, one is an integral part of the other.

If Norv fails, the team fails and none of us want that.
If he succeeds, the team succeeds, and we DO want that.

Supporting The Chargers means supporting whoever is HC!

I just want wins, I don't care how we get them just get them. If our defense played half as good as the offense has this year, there wouldn't much hating going on at all.

Our D has let this club down and like Don Coryell, Norv allows his DC to control that side of the ball. HC's usually control the side of the team that they are most proficient in.

MANY of us didn't like the Norv hire, but only one of us is b*tching and complaining incessantly, and turns almost every thread into yet another opportunity to bash Norv.

BOTTOM LINE...THERE ARE WHINY B*TCHES AND THERE ARE CHARGER FANS WHO UNDERSTAND THEY CAN'T CHANGE THE HEAD COACH, SO THEY DON'T OBSESS OVER IT.

    Hey Jack.

There quote on quote whiny threads about Marty. Those people are shutting up because they they don't want to admit that what we got in return sucks.

I'm not going to change my opinion just to make Norv Turner fans happy. Since you're such a Norvy, sell your season tickets and go watch Norv play golf, tennis, or bowling instead!!
