The Chargers only added one free agent, safety Bhawoh Jue, but they are so much better than they were heading into last year's 12-win season.

Drew Brees is throwing the ball with more velocity after a strong offseason of working out with LaDainian Tomlinson. This is a good team. Tomlinson is the game's top running back. Michael Turner has replaced Jesse Chatman at backup halfback, and he's powerful at 237 pounds and fast. Darren Sproles is instant excitement on special teams and is Barry Sanders-like with his running style. The Chargers also are developing some decent young receivers -- Reche Caldwell, Eric Parker and Vincent Jackson. </blockquote>
