The San Diego City Council and the county Board of Supervisors are ready to team up on the search for a new Chargers stadium, with solid majorities poised to vote Tuesday for collaboration.

The votes commit the city and the county to work together on a stadium deal that keeps the Chargers in the county. Local officials say the team brings economic and civic benefits to the community.

The Board of Supervisors is scheduled to vote on the agreement – called a memorandum of understanding – at its 9 a.m. meeting at the County Administration Center, 1600 Pacific Highway. The council plans to vote at its 2 p.m. meeting at City Hall, 202 C St.
