The Chargers play the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, with the Steelers coming off a bye again, same as they were last year when they came to San Diego and won 24-22.

That game against the Steelers last October began a stretch of four opponents in five games that had byes the week before playing the Chargers. That won't happen to any team again. The league this year put a protection into its scheduling process to ensure no team would have to endure such a stretch, according to a source.
