    Just saw this on ESPN.

Scheffler to the Lions, Sims to the Eagles,Denver gets an undisclosed draft pick. Believed to be either a 3 or 4.

I see the advantage if your the Eagles (wanted more good LBs), I see the advantage of the Broncos (cleaning house to satisfy Il Duce), but why would the Lions want a second tight end? They just drafted Brandon pettigrew last year in hte first

This is awesome.. The 3 guys that gave us hell over the last couple years are gone.. Cutler, Marshall and Sheffler! Keep it going there McDaniels, maybe you will find a way to get rid of Dumvervil and Eddie Royal!

I'll pass on what ESPN is thinking that this move does

    1. Gives Pettigrew more time to heal up
    2. Once #1 happens, alot of (yes) double tight end sets where both players compliment each other (and do well)
    3. More targets for Stafford
    4. The Lions get rid of a player (Sims) who didn't apparently fit the system

5th round pick to the donks. They basically gave Scheffler away.

Denver is quickly turning into a trainwreck and McDaniels is driving.

Ernie Simms for a 3rd or 4th round pick sounds like a pretty good deal for Philly.

not so much for Detroit. They could have kept Sims and drafted a TE with comparable skill as Scheffler

LOL, whoever paid McDouchebag to destroy the bright future the Broncos had a couple season ago: THANK YOU.

Denver will send a seventh-round pick to the Lions as well.

    from the comments section

Detroit & the Donks need to stay close.

The Detroit personnel guys must've watched Sheffler's game tape against the Chargers. :nana_dance:

My understanding was that the Broncos lose a 7th rounder in the deal, while picking up a 5th.

I don't recall Jake Utler ever giving the Chargers hell. I believe his only win against the Bolts came with a huge assist from Ed Hochuli. :icon_evil:

He dropped 30+ points on us in that game and Brandon Marshall caught 18 of his passes.

Sure, it took a Hochuli assist for them to win but that's only because Rivers and the Chargers offense did just as good against their defense...something Cutler had no control over.

But yeah, you're right that he wasn't really all that good against us in any of his other match ups.

21 pts and 316 passing yards in his last one, but that was in garbage time while getting routed.

Umm, I just threw that out there.

I didn't read espn or anything.

Why else would you trade for a TE when you just drafted a first rounder last year? To run more two TE sets.

What I don't get about the Broncos, is why did they give a rookie head coach so much control over the personnel decisions? Norv has been in the league for a long damn time, and he doesn't even have the say that McDanials has. McDanials was basically given GM powers to do what ever he wants

possibly because it worked for them last time? just a guess.

Shanahan eventually took over all the personell decisions, but I can't remember if he had all that power at the beginning of his time there.

Anyway, they previously went after a young hot shot coordinator and gave them alot of control. Looks like they are doing something similar.

The irony is that Shanahan was a great coach but his downfall was that he couldn't handle the dual role as HC/GM and now Denver is making the same mistake with McDaniels. I think ownership realizes that the situation is so F'd up that they have no choice but to let McD try to fix it. If it fails they can make him the scapegoat.

Finally! All the Players that DEN took that I liked and wanted to watch their careers is finally gone!! Now I can cheer my other boy Scheftler. (other being still stuck in OAK)

And I can go back to utterly and supremely hating the broncos. Funny guy I work with reminded me he likes the broncs, and I had to tell him JoshMcD will not take DEN anywhere but down the same road they like to travel of late. Funny I didnt even get to rub this in. Guess thats what tommorow will be good for. Oyea and the Sched. O and 4/20. No doubt those that will be will have a good one.
