Sweet, step one of signing the Holy 2 this off-season. As long as they get him and Dielman, I could care less about our other FA's one way or another.

If I were GM I would trade Goff, move Olivea inside to guard and send him to fat camp and draft a right tackle

    This is freaking AWESOME!! :abq2:

Cottrell and Rivera are going to be attacking opposing offenses next season; retaining Phillips was crucial.

And with Norv directing the offense, we are going to be scary good on both sides of the ball.

A day after hiring Norv Turner as head coach, the Chargers wasted no time getting back to regular offseason business Tuesday, signing linebacker Shaun Phillips to a six-year contract that will guarantee him $13 million. Phillips becomes the 20th core player the Chargers have signed through at least 2009, the 18th such player who is 27 years old or younger. Phillips, a fourth-round draft pick in 2004, ranked second among NFL linebackers with 11½ sacks in 2006, behind only teammate Shawne Merriman. Despite starting just three games, he was second to Merriman with seven sacks in 2005. Phillips took over the starting job opposite Merriman before last season when Steve Foley was injured in a shooting incident with an off-duty policeman.
