The compensation had not been agreed upon as of late last night, but the contract is expected to be completed today.

Meanwhile, Chargers defensive coordinator Wade Phillips awaits word that he is officially a candidate for the Dallas Cowboys head coach's job.

While speculation is rampant that Phillips and former Chargers and current San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Norv Turner are front-runners for the job vacated Monday by Bill Parcells, the Chargers have yet to receive the obligatory request from the Cowboys to speak to Phillips.
