SI's take on our HC/GM situation

    Hell, even the two sports owners most notorious for being cheap have their teams currently in line for at least a shot at a championship right now (Mike Brown and Donald Sterling).

    Just because we have to deal with a cheap owner who cares more about profit than winning doesn't mean we have to throw our hands up assuming it'll never happen, nor does it mean we have to assume that (even if not top priority) that they don't want their team to win at all.

    Really it was that James Harrison 99yd return on that terrible too cute Norvish gimic play before halftime that cost them a Super Bowl.

    You missed his assertion. He stated that Spanos is willing to buy the kind of staff that gets a talented roster into the playoffs, but probably won't have success there. The stands were full from 2005-2010 as I recall, which is what Spanos is banking on. No one is talking about Spanos going so cheaply that the team fields an absolute dog.
