    It's insignificant that the Chargers now are the only football team this side of AC Milan to have two players named Antonio. What is meaningful is that they have broken away from their draft-day philosophy for the first time since Bobby Beathard roamed the halls. Of course, Beathard had no draft day philosophy – at least one human beings could understand.

    Yesterday, the Chargers gambled, wagering a first-round pick on a cornerback who started one college game, came out early and hasn't played since the Jan. 1, 2005, Gator Bowl. And then they took an offensive tackle with a history of back problems.</blockquote>
