I thought he was a very good receiver; it’s just that this year he seemed to drop some balls that were catchable in crucial situations. You never heard him complain through the press, some of the guys found some twitter messages from him complaining about not getting enough playing time.

He's real good when he's on his game. If anything, he'll be a good mentor to your young receivers.

I think he will play well for you. He was in a slump with the Dolphins when we traded for him...he did very well when he first came over. In a slump now, but this change could be very positive for him and the Chiefs....I wish him luck...except against the Bolts!

These guys pretty much nailed it.

I was sad to see him go but understood the move - he's a great locker room guy by all accounts and maybe a change of scenery will help him get back on his game :icon_shrug:

    Chambers has lost a step.

He isn't as fast as he used to be. He has been having trouble getting away from defenders, maybe because of this. Since his injury he hasn't been the same.

This isn't an upgrade at your number one receiver, maybe an upgrade for your number two. He still has some gas and will be a mentor.

He has always been a good locker room presence.

HOWEVER, he has also been known for dropping some easy balls. Fact is this season he has dropped more than he has catched and is one of our least open WRs.

Sorry to see him go, but he doesn't have much left. I hope he does well against everyone, but the Chargers.

Suffice to say he is a good pickup for the chiefs at this time.

He's not going to burn by anyone, but he's pretty decent. He'll sometimes drop easy passes, but frequently makes "wow!" difficult catches.

We have better, younger, and faster WR so he became expendable. His personal issues only compounded the situation. When I mean personal issues, it's nothing "locker room cancer" like.

The personal issues stem from a woman he broke up with that has been stalking and harrassing him and his wife. Yes, he dated a crazy woman while married. He broke up with her and she couldn't handle it. So, getting out of San Diego, where he can be 1000+ miles away from her would be a good thing from a piece of mind standpoint.

Chris Chambers is sick. He is a leader and will be a god send to developing Bowe. I don't care what anyone says he is awesome and really did oh so much for this squad. For me personally I think that by cutting him we completely disrespected him and what he did for this squad. He's going to have a fire under his ***; now granted he was in a slump here but chambers in a slump for a few games is no biggie in my opinion; he is going to be your new favorite chief.

Well i can tell you that i dont understand that move by your team at all.
Going nowhere and taking on his remaining salary and then he will be a FA :icon_huh:

I dont know, does Bowe need a vet presense? How about we trade you Buster Davis for Derrick Johnson?

I always liked him, seemed to come up big when Gates was down or covered. He was one of those guys Rivers could trust on third down a lot last year. He's actually a good route runner and he's sure-footed. I can't tell you how many times he'd make catches on the sidelines where a less experienced receiver would have stepped out of bounds. So, I actually have to say I'm very disappointed that he couldn't more use to us this season.

Sounds like Chambers had some personal distractions that affected his play this year. Apparently he has a new girlfriend that was allegedly harassing and threatening the wives and girlfriends of some of his teammates because they were friends with Chambers soon to be ex-wife. At least that's what I heard from one inside "source." Not sure what the truth is, but this is clearly more than just an issue about a player in a slump in the last year of his contract. The Chargers clearly thought there were some off the field issues contributing to his downturn in performance.

He's washed up, he had 8 catches in 7 games and we couldn't justify starting him over the younger and more physically gifted Floyd and Nanee anymore. We also didn't need 6WR's on the roster when our TE is already such a big part of our recieving game.

Maybe that stalker won't feel so comfortable following him to KC.

Chambers served his purpose here and was damn good when he was "on".

I hope he sucks a.ss when we play you guys, but other than I wish him the best.

Yeah, KC claimed him off waivers, meaning they pay the remainder of his $2.4 million base salary, and cap hit. The Bolts save $2.4 million of cap space.

I just found out that we got rid of him because of some troubles with an ex girlfriend that his wife did not like.

Imprecise route runner and often ends up not having his body properly positioned to make the catch. This is why he is consistently at the bottom of the league in terms of % of passes caught that were directed towards him. This was true in Miami and in San Diego.

Up until late last year he could stretch the field though. Now, maybe not so much. Worth 2.4m for half a season? No. But if you are ok with the price tag you got a nice set of bookends through the end of the year. The Chiefs always seem to be able to get alot out of old receivers.
