No. 19 CHARGERS: A cornerback certainly would make sense, after Sammy Davis was traded to the 49ers. If Cromartie still were there, and he might be, they'd have to give him a serious look. But WINSTON JUSTICE, T, USC, is the second-highest-rated offensive lineman in the draft, and LT Roman Oben is getting along in years, so call it one of those value picks.

    19. San Diego Chargers Antonio Cromartie, CB, Florida State: I know, it's a gamble; but this is team that let Drew Brees walk

    19. San Diego Chargers Antonio Cromartie, CB, Florida State: The Chargers need to play better in the secondary and Cromartie has Pro Bowl corner skills. He is coming off an ACL tear last summer, but he's done well in his workouts.

    19. Chargers Marcus McNeil OT Auburn
They need help protecting their new young starting QB.

    19. Chargers Winston Justice OT USC
They need a young offensive tackle badly to replace veteran LT Roman Oben.
Other possibilities: Thomas Howard to eventually replace veteran LB Steve Foley. Jason Allen and Antonio Cromartie are serious considerations as well.

    Jason Allen, CB/S, Tennessee
John Clayton, ESPN.com senior NFL writer: The prime need for the Chargers is a left tackle but it might be a little too early to take Marcus McNeill. Allen is a big corner with speed. Though the Chargers could trade down, Allen would give the defense versatility because he could also help out at safety.

(This is after ESPN had the Cowboys pass on him because he was an 'injury risk' :icon_huh: )
