Sproles goes on IR; Jackson in hospital

SAN DIEGO - Chargers kick returner Darren Sproles will be out for the season with a broken left leg and the team revealed Tuesday that wide receiver Vincent Jackson has been hospitalized since Saturday night with a bruised chest.

Coach Marty Schottenheimer wouldn't expand on Jackson's condition. Jackson was injured in Saturday night's exhibition win over the Green Bay Packers.

No need to be done with Sproles IMO. He is young, elusive and fast. he can be something special back there.

How is he even cut? He's IRed and will be back next season.

So, do you celebrate every time a player breaks his leg?

    I won't "shupup"

The guy breaks his leg and you go off spouting that you never really liked him.

    Nice going.

So, when he broke those 40+ yard runs last year, you didn't like it?

When he posted a 24.3 yard return average last year against NFL competition, that wasn't good?

Oh yeah, that's right, you want Cromartie who did a 23.3 ave in college.

I will because Dante Hall didn't do a damn thing returning kicks for his first two seasons.

It wasn't till his 3rd season that he came close to doing what Sproles did last year in his ROOKIE season, and also was when he returned his first kickoff for a TD.

So, even though Sproles will miss this entire season, he will have done more his first two years than Dante did.

So, you aren't willing to give Sproles a 3rd season to "break out" and return one for a TD, like KC was obviously willing to let Dante?

I'm sure if you were a KC fan after the 2001 season, you would have lobbied to have Dante Hall cut because he wasn't doing enough.

When it comes down to our receiving corp the rest will have to step it up and hopefully Floyd can fill in for VJ to take a little presure off for Rivers.

When it comes to Sproles we have a big ? when it come to a return specialist its a carousel around and around it goes where ever it stops no one knows who it is going to be our return specialist.

The "thick-legged" RB had twice as many returns for 40+ yards his ROOKIE season than Dante the "spiderleg" did his first two seasons.

He also had a higher return average and equal number of 40+ yard returns as Dante did last season.

    Didn't you read the article?

The timeline is 3 to 4 months of recovery, pretty much the entire season.

He would need another month or so of practice to get back into the rhythm, eating into the playoffs.

How was he on the bubble?

He was listed as the #1 KR/PR.

Who was the #2 KR before Saturday's game? Michael Turner.

Who was the #2 PR before Saturday's game? Keenan McCardell.

It's not like some rookie or 2nd year player was fighting him for a roster spot.

Now, as of Today's newly revised depth chart, it looks like DB Markus Curry is the #1 PR and Turner is the #1 KR. Although, they should let Curry do both.

So, you'll get your wish to see if a "spiderlegged" DB who was competing for a dime back spot can match Sproles in returns.
