Though there's plenty to be determined regarding the seeding of the AFC and NFC playoff teams, our pal Todd Wright of Sporting News Radio has pointed out the possibility that each of the wild-card playoff games could be rematches of Week 17 contests.

Next Sunday, the Cowboys host the Eagles, the Cardinals host the Packers, the Jets host the Bengals, and the Texans host the Patriots.

Depending on the outcome of those and other games, all four of those games could be played again the following weekend.

There's still a lot to be determined before we get to that point. But as these eight teams prepare for next Sunday, they need to account for the possibility that they'll be facing the same opponent again either six or seven days later.

That would be pretty cool if all 4 of those games were re-matches 7 days later in single elimination...

The interesting thing is that I think 3 of the rematches would take place in the opposite home field.

The Jets host the Bengals in Week 17. Week 18 could be Bengals hosting Jets.

Week 17 has Cowboys hosting the Eagles. Week 18 could be Eagles hosting the Cowboys.

Week 17 has the Texans hosting the Patriots. Week 18 could have the Pats hosting the Texans.

Jets/Bengals and Houston/New England would switch venues

Arizona/Green Bay would stay in Arizona

Philly/Dallas depends on who wins the week 17 game.

Houston isn't getting into the post season but there could be all kinds of rematches coming up. I, for one, dislike rematches with Playoff implications. I've already seen Baltimore and Cincinatti at each other's throats twice this season. Though I'm ecstatic about NYJ and BAL being in charge of their own destinies. We match up well should these two stand victorious.

For Houston to get in they need two of three out of Oakland, Kansas City, and Cincinnati to win and they need to beat New England on top of that.

Yeah, I don't like their chances either.

Correct! *note on Philly/Dallas: that division is till up for grabs for anyone who may not know

all 4 game repeating themselves the following week would be wild to see

Looks like we get Cincy, Ravens, or Pats.

None of these teams concern me.

No chance to spank the Donkeys again unless it's in the AFCC.

Yeah. Denver really can't nab that fifth spot but a AFC West AFC Championship game would be so one-sided and give us much momentum going into the Superbowl. GO RETARDS! :turdspuke:

and still, go JETS and DOLPHINS! Spoiler time baby!

I don't know. Helps us out if these beat the crap out of one another one extra time.
