Their offense is No. 3 in the league, rolling up 364.8 yards, averaging 30 points a game and trotting out an array of weapons few teams can match.

    You could say, in fact, that but for Marty Schottenheimer's spasm of conservatism in Baltimore three weeks ago, the Chargers would be a national story on the order of the Bears and Colts.</blockquote>
