Rivers - Saves the day yet again.
Oliver - His final 3 runs were AWESOME
Gates - "Forever young, may you stay forever young"
Verrett - Gave up a couple short passes, but made the big play with the game on the line.
Floyd - As long as he stays healthy we'll keep moving the ball through the air.

    Duds
Freeney - Not looking good bruh, probably injured but still...
    Troutman - Continues to struggle
Reyes - Back to being Kendall Reyes for a week.
Liuget - Cmon man make a damn play! He is unlockable at times, but he's been non-existent the last couple weeks.

Studs: San Diego Chargers football players. Tough Team!
Duds: Some coaching calls where they were trying to get too cute. (Pags early blitzes that blew up in his face, fake kick, etc.) Hey! Trust your players to get the job done and for Pete's sake, it's the Raiders, don't deprive Oakland of the chance to implode, which they ultimately did.

M-80; I wish we could've had him last year.....
Philip Rivers; he basically should be here permanently
Gates; Just like M-80 he's so good
Eddie Royal; it's hard to imagine how incredible he's become this year
Chris Watt; love what I'm seeing out of him, he's taking huge steps forward
Jason Verrett; couldn't have made his first INT at a better time
    Nick Novak; ice ice baby
Brandon Oliver; might be THE find of UDFA
Mike McCoy; this team lost games like this over the last two years, but they stepped up

    Middle Ground

Eric Weddle; great defensive game but lands here SOLELY because of the stupid fake punt call
Rich Ohrnberger; was great to see him back but wow he had some rust
Ronnie Brown; one big play, guess that's all we can expect

    Duds

Marcus Gilchrist/Donald Butler; both look like they don't give a crap out there at all
John Pagano; this defense looked like it thought this was a bye week
Jeremiah Attaouch; rookie mistake but could've ended this a lot earlier
Keenan Allen; stepped up in PR but he is not right and he needs to take a break
Special Teams; definitely their weakest game of the year

Disagree with Reyes, he was no stud but he wasn't a dud either. I think that some fans are just going with the status quo on Reyes on this S&D list. The one who has drooped off sharply is Liuget!

Gritty win. I'd hoped we'd take it running away but sometimes tough wins keep you more focused. Once we get our injured guys will be a lot better off.

Not at all, Reyes was a plus player IMO the last 2 weeks. This week was a clear step back, we were getting gashed in the front 7 all together. The Raiders averaged 6.6ypc today, and Reyes was part of the problem.

Jason Verrett – 1st NFL pick against the team he grew up rooting for saves the game for us.

Branden Oliver – 100+ rushing yards with a touchdown in second straight game, he’s continuing to show that the Draft process is an inexact science, and justifying the faith & wisdom that our coaching staff had when they kept him over Marion Grice.

Philip Rivers – No mistakes, and made something out of nothing several times today and threw a touchdown pass in his 26th consecutive game.

Nick Novak – Nailed the 54 yard attempt with distance to spare, and even though that one was wiped out by a penalty, his late 4th Quarter field goal provided the margin of victory.

Malcom Floyd – More than 100 yards receiving, and a touchdown. He’s our most reliable deep threat.

    Middle Ground

Defense – made the big stops late when it counted, but also let several earlier opportunities for game changing turnovers get away. Got gashed on the ground for 114 rushing yards & a 5.7 yard average, and gave up nearly 300 passing yards and 4 touchdown passes to a rookie, without sacking him even once.

    Duds

Mounting Injuries – Don’t know how long we can continues to suffer them & still win.

Decision making – The ill advised fake punt is one, and the decision to have our starting RB (Oliver) returning kickoffs when other “role players” (like Shaun Draughn) are available to do that, and have prior NFL experience doing so.

Considering this was the defenses first bad game and we still won, thanks in part to a timely int, I'll give them a pass.

But they better get back to form and keep this as an aberration to the norm.

The 3-4 DEs will inevitably under produce in the absence of a legitimate and dominant NT. Also, give some credit to the Raiders OL and their RBs. Not to make excuses, but we have many issues which need to be addressed. We are just very fortunate that Rivers is playing at such great caliber and makes almost everyone around him look really good.

Great teams find ways to grind games like this out. I'm not worried about it. Think we underestimated the energy the Raiders came out with under Sparano.

But, we found a way. All that matters, we're 5-1 heading home for another tough divisional game against KC. OL is going to have be on their A-game.

I just love how Verrett is already celebrating the play as he's falling to the ground. Awesome?

He already had his feet down in bounds and the ball secure when he raised his other arm.

I mean I suppose you can nitpick and say he could have used the other arm to double secure but let's not read too much into what was a split second part of a play.

Division games are always tough, especially on the road. You know it had to sting for the winless Raiders to be hearing about the Chargers' great start to the season, so they gave it all they had to come out and get their first W at our expense.

    Studs:
Rivers - Another smooth game for #17. He looks so much calmer, just in complete control. His MVP level season continues.
Floyd - Made huge plays yesterday, racking up 100 yards and a TD. Nice to have him back this year.
Gates - I just love this guy, he's defying father time with a great season so far.
Verrett - What a time to get your first INT, huge play, and loved the fact that he was already celebrating with a finger in the air before he even hit the floor. Maybe it's time I admitted he isn't too small, as he got the INT against a 6'3 WR.
Oliver - Particularly heated up towards the end, tore the Raiders apart on our final drive.

    Duds:
D-Line - Allowed Carr to get seemingly forever to pick out a throw all day long. Not enough pressure on the QB.
Team Discipline - That one drive with 3 consecutive plays taking points off the board for us and then that ridiculous fake punt call at the end. That type of nonsense costs you wins against better teams. Same with a face mask call against Jerry that nullified the fumble recovery, luckily for us Verrett saved us later.
Gilchrist - A CB playing safety, but he sure doesn't show off his CB-like cover skills very often when I see him out there.

Rivers, Oliver, M80 and the receiving corps in general. Would have liked to have seen Inman get a shot as clearly Allen was playing hobbled, he is not 100%. At last we got peewee involved. Those underneath crossing routes were there all day long.
Derek Carr, deserved more from this game, not helped by the drops, the INT was not on him, just a superb play from Verrett.

    Duds

Weddle's decision to go for the fake punt. Didn't he know it was 4th and forever?
Donald Butler time to ride the pine imho, never thought I'd be saying this but I'm looking forward to Te'o's return.
The pass rush and run D. Simply awful. Liuget must be playing with only 1 arm, he cannot be this ineffective at 100%.
Injuries to Flowers and Royal. These guys have been great, we need em back.
Troutman, as good he was on that 1 run play watch the previous one, completely whiffed and gave his man a clean shot at BO, thankfully BO made him miss. Watt needs to play all the time simple as that. V early on Troutman had Burris lined up and missed him too and Burris got Oliver, else it coulda been a big run.

Rivers- Does he need a long explanation as to why? He is disgusting this year.

Oliver- love this kid. Might be the demise of Ryan Mathews as a charger.

Verrett- So far everything I thought he would be and more.

Gates- This just in. He can still ball.

M-80- stretched the field and made big plays all day.

    Duds:

    Turd fans egging.

Amen! Ever since we lost Jamal Williams our 3-4 has sucked. Last year 7 out of the top 10 defenses were 4-3. Without that super star NT our 3-4 will continue to suck against the run. I should quantify that with "suck against good running teams.
