I think he is only dirty like twice a season. That can be tolerated, the guy would make our defense Top 5. Especially if we continue to improve the secondary and dline with draft picks.

He definitely makes sense for us but to be fair he makes sense for like 90% of the league which is why he's going to get a massive contract.

I don't see Suh under a John Pagano type of DC (an avuncular type of person) He'll probably sign with a Sexy Rexy type of HC, who is also suposedly a defensive mind "genius" ;)

We can only salivate over a Suh / Liuget tandem, but that's about it!

Suh said he was going to let his agent pick his next team, so we don't have to worry about non-monetary factors. Just offer the most straight cash homie.

I would prefer Justin Houston over Suh. OLB means more to a 3-4 than a DT/NT. I dont think we have a realistic shot at either. Draft picks and Attoachu and Ingram are gonna be saviours or goats of this pass rush next year. We cant expect much from ole men Freeney and Johnson.

I'd love a mean and nasty defense for the Bolts, it would be something I've never witnessed before!!!!!!

Did the Chargers hire AJ Preller?

Maybe by you and the Bolts see a mean and nasty defense. That team couldn't hold a candle to the 70 - 80's Raiduds or purple people eaters. Those were mean and nasty defensive units.

And the Steelers and Ravens have had a pretty nasty defense over the years as well.

I wasn't calling the '06 Chargers the nastiest defense in the history of the game, I just said it was pretty nasty.

I agree the '06 Chargers were nasty. Was thinking the other day about how awesome it was to have monsters at the DL and OLB spots as I dreamed about Suh coming to San Diego.

Those are the style defensive units I like and the ones that can help get a team the Lombardi. I know what you're saying and the Bolts have had good D's at times but the one that could have been great was traded away.

Problem is his past. It's to the point where any dirty play he makes, he'll be facing a possible multi-game suspension.

Can we afford to live with that kind of problem?

On talent alone, hell yes bring him on! But not for the 20 million a year he's gonna cost. Also, it's been made clear that the front office will not look at guys with real or perceived character issues. The Spanos family was outspoken in their disappointment/embarrassment after Steve Foley, Terrence Kiel, Vincent Jackson (dui's), Shaun Phillips (fights), Jamal Williams (dui), Shawn Merriman (PED's) that if you look at it, we haven't drafted or signed a guy with character red flags since. Forget about Suh, it won't happen

I bet Suh gets a monster deal from a team like Oakland or Washington and fall off the face of the earth.

Hope it isn't Oakland. Or else all 6 divisional games will on the edge type of games. AFC West is leaps and bounds better than it was when we dominated it. Washington always grabs the big F.A that fizzle away. I also hear now that AJ Smith got promoted and is in more control. That team is a disaster.

He was just paid $22m this year by the Lions and had one of the most productive seasons a DL could have.

His character doesn't say so. It's just the fact of can Suh play a clean season on the field?

Yeah, I don't think that is happening.
    1) He will cost too much and we have lots of areas to address.
    2) He will make boneheaded penalties / cheap shots that will get him suspended when we would need him the most.
Great talent...too bad he is a wanna-be thug on the field. Pass.

Even with his baggage? Like I said before, the NFL is watching him VERY closely. Only reason he didn't get a one game suspension for stomping on Rodgers was because it was a playoff game.

Yes. Dude is a beast and would instantly be the 2nd best player we had on D. I've said it before that I think they need a little dirty on the team.

If the Bolts are to spend big in free agency then go O-Line all they need is one more point at the final gun. Besides, it's a long standing Bolt tradition, great offense, sometimes good defense. Ring em up baby!!!!!!!!....

I'm with you. Edge rushers are way more valuable. The difference between Suh and an average DL is not as big as the difference between Houston and an average pass rusher.
