Last year we had a great season, but last year we opened the schedule with a terrible Raiders team which we completely blew out.

This year our schedule has been brutal to say the least. We played tough games against three top notch teams so far and two of those games were on the road.

Last season when we started the season just completely dominating teams, it gave our team not just confidence, but the expectation of winning. When we expect to win, we have the talent to be nearly unbeatable. This season playing tough teams and new schemes designed specifically against our strengths, things have been different. I'm not saying that the Chargers have lost their confidence, but they have lost their feeling of invincibility.

Our next six weeks play out as follows: Chiefs, @ Broncos, Raiders, BYE, Texans, @ Vikings. All of those games should be San Diego victories. Against the Chiefs we should really get on track as they are struggling badly right now.

Then in 7 weeks we play Indy. We know we can beat Indy. We've done it before in their house and this is at home. When we play the Colts on Nov. 11th, we will be a different team than we've shown so far. We will be riding a nice streak and have momentum.

Momentum is something that shouldn't be underestimated. Last season momentum took us to 14-2. This season the momentum is about to start.

I can dig it. Like I've said before, we just need to play a little bit better each week. We don't have to go out and play our best game on Sunday. Just get our footing and a victory. The goal is to be playing your best at the end of the season. Big 'mo is about to swing our way.

Playing our best game on Sunday is actually pretty important. First, it would boost the confidence of the team and promote more cohesiveness and harmony among the players. This team had what was probably the best chemistry in the league last year, and while it's anything but bad now, a really solid win would recement that bond.

Secondly, a solid performance would also mean that the coaches had finally gotten their heads out where the sun shines and put the team in a position mentally to make the run we need to make in the next seven weeks. It would mean that they had finally drawn up an effective game plan.

Thirdly, my liver would greatly appreciate a little slack right now.

Fourthly, 2-2 feels a whole lot better than 1-3, especially since we on a run through the division right now.

I agree that a solid performance is necessary, but I don't want everybody out there trying to play the perfect game. That can definitely work against you. The Bolts definitely do not need to play a perfect game to beat the Queefs. Don't get me wrong. I expect the Bolts to give the Chiefs a thorough drubbing, but I don't want the players to put so much pressure on themselves to perform that they collapse under the weight of that pressure. They need to go out, have fun, fly around and make plays.

Yeah, this "all business" approach has become "no passion." Sure, football is a job for these guys. But above all else, it's a game. An emotional game. They need to go out and play like it.

I can feel the momentum shifting already. I'm taking Monday off, so I can do some goddam serious victory drinking. I've been sober the last 2 weeks and it has gotten us nowhere. I will have 2 beers and my NERF lightning bolt at all times. My drunken fury knows no bounds!! :bolt: :bolt: :icon_party:

But I promise I won't drink and post this time:lol:

Beating up on a bad team is a good start.
Especially when you have four bad teams following!!!

I've been practicing my Bolts victory dance since Monday, just for my Chiefs-loving wife. I've also been waking up in the middle of the night with severe diarrhea since Monday night.

Could there be a connection?? :icon_shrug:

She says no. But....... we had takeout Chinese last night - no intestinal issues.

I'm suspicious, but in love. :icon_rofl:

Sunday is gonna be interesting at the Hawgshack. If I don't post by Monday evening, send a search party!

    Go Bolts!! :bolt: :abq2: :abq1:

That flying around and having fun was why they were so good last year. That IS there best game. I'm thinking maybe playing is not so much fun at the moment.
