Well..it's ridiculous to look down on someone because they don't like the music you like......people like that are idiots. It's a free country.

My wife loves the guy...I never got into him at all until we were in the front row at a show this past summer and man what a show. Being a musician myself, it was cool being that close...my wife and I actually strummed his guitar(the legendary Esquire/Tele partsocaster) at one point. The dude puts a great show on. But I respect your opinion...because after all, I was in your camp before this year. I will say this, you cannot get a true representation of what his shows are like just from the records. No where close.

I thought especially considering the time restraints which we know Bruce never really handled all that well, they did an awesome job.

I see some commenting on other blogs about his vocals being off and the mix being screwy. Let me say 2 things. First of all, the bands that play at the SB always sound a little off...I don't really know how much the people at the SB really put into the sound over a 12 minute performance. All things considered, other than the guitars being real low in the mix, I thought the band sounded good. Secondly, as far as Bruce's voice goes, as any of you who perform live...Buck..TK come to mind, when you run around that much your voice jumps around especially when you get out of breath.

People who watch Bruce expecting some sort of polished vocal performance need to go rent a Celine Dion DVD, grab a box of bon bons and mope until their hearts content....... because they are missing the whole point of the rockin' energy and good time that Bruce Springsteen and the E street band brings to the table...not some American Idol contest.

    I thought it was great.

But I do understand it's a love/hate thing with Bruce.

You can talk about energy all you want. They sucked! I have been to concerts, Eric Clapton rocks the house with high energy, and sounds good. It sounded like the E-Street band wasnt even trying to sing in tune with one another. So you get pumped because they jumped around, the fact is they sounded like a poor garage band to me.

You can agree to disagree, you can post your Celene Dion videos that you watch every night before bed, it wont change what I heard yesterday, and that was a band that I consider was a great American band sounding like ****. They even managed to f'up Glory Days.

You look at Paul mcCartney, U2 and even Prince, they still sound good in their 12 minute shows... Did The E-Street band match them in your estimation?

I am not a guy who "gets" Bruce, but I thought the performance last night was good. Not spectacular, but good. The music and production were good and Bruce is a very capable entertainer and performer.

I would have been bored out of my skull being there, 'cause I don't go in for ultra-tame Disney-friendly all smiles pop-rock. But I'm sure all the old people loved it.

    Prince was awesome.

    U2 was great.

    McCartney sounded old....but he is.

    Petty was weak...no energy....snoozefest.

The Stones were bad...just plain awful. Keith and Ron sounded like they weren't playing the same songs at the same time.

Last night's performance was on par with U2 and just under Prince's which I thought was the best. And I think refering to this legendary group of musicians as a garage band is pretty comical.

All the superbowl performances sound far less than perfect. It's most likely an engineering thing.

And that Celine Dion video was for you...nice polished vocals. Hope you enjoyed it.

The Bruce shows I've seen have people from college age up to 70 at. Pretty diversified....age wise that is.

He's great for what he does and I'm sure he's a great live act. He's been doing it so long.

Though of course, that doesn't always mean he can do it. I remember seeing Crosby, Stills, and Nash at Woodstock 94 and they were horrible. David Crosby was struggling to get through the set.

Why does it matter if he thanked Obama? Obama picked the Steelers and the two are friends. Let go of the hate.

my brother in law says he thinks harrison got hit in the nuts by the arizona player and thats why he reacted like he did. Kind of similar to when IGOR got knee clipped against the donks last year.
