Did everyone catch all the mistakes during the super bowl?

You would think they would get a singer who knew the words to the National Anthem if they are going live during the pregame ceremonies.

Why do a flyover with Aircraft if you have a dome over the stadium

I guess there was no "LOVE" in the halftime show.

What Super Bowl was Rodger Staubach the MVP of?

Christina Aguilera = FAIL, I even know the words to the US National Anthem, and Im from a different bloody continent.

As for the Fergie and Slash thing at half time, that just didnt work for me.

All in all I wont remember this one for its music and singing. Bring back The Who next year!!!!!!!!

The stage is understandable. They have only a couple of minutes to move it all out and get it into position before going live. So missing a lug, or breaking a connector is understandable to me.

I have not see a halftime musical performance in some time that I would say is good, and the sad part is this was one of the better ones, but yes, keep Fergie away from Guns & Roses songs. It seemed for a while you have to be geriatric to perform in a Super Bowl halftime show, or have someone who ripps off your shirt showing your saggy baggs (now Fergie could have surpassed that show).

I mean The Who? Really, c'mon!

Why does there have to be a musical halftime show? Does it really help the ratings or ticket sales? Treat it as a regular halftime.

Becasue the NFL wants this to be 'spectacular'

I mean how many times do they cut to this seat or that to show all the important people who are there. Then they cut outside to show the normal folk who sit outside the castle hoping the queen will let them eat cake...

Bono is really more English than Irish, so they are responsible.

but if they are planning on a stage to be built in a minute, they can put quick disconnect style recepticles in there. And I would have the people who were going to build that stage in a minute. practice that assembly numerous times. and every time after wards go over the whole process. Lessons learned from all of that are very important.

You only have one chance to make a first impression.

That is true, but only a fool expects anything the be fool proof. Practice helps, but in the heat of the moment something could get broke or forgotten, especially in a darkened stadium.

Anywho, that one was not a big issue to me... But if it chapps someones hide, its 'aight with me.

We are NOT responsible for Bono. Before you start blaming the English for every bit of musical crap to come out of Ireland i've got one word for you: Jedward.

But if you are trying to be spectacular, and you are going live to over 100 countries. One would expect everything to be perfect. It’s your 15 minutes of fame to shine. That’s just my 2 cents.

    Damn, Ive been caught.

Im afraid England will have to take responsibility for Jedward , because it was the English who kept voting for them every week on the X-Factor

However I think we are going off the topic slightly.

    Welcome to Bolttalk btw

Nope. They are trying to do too much with too little of time IMHO...

But they have to keep all the American Royalty and famous folk entertained.

Just watched the halftime because I went to get food when it was live (I hate BEP) and heard it was terrible. So in keeping with the spirit of the thread, the musical selections were all a mistake (except I'll be honest, I like Usher). Also Conc, I don't like The Who, but last year was an awesome halftime show!

Did anyone else catch this during the Michael Douglas speech at the beginning of the game? Among the pictures of American life there was a picture of Bono with an American flag in the background. Is Bono a card-carrying American? Just curious.

The sound quality during the halftime show was HORRIBLE. Microphones NOT working, a real mess.

Couple that with the seating fiasco, bad weather, hotels (Marriott & Sheraton) not prepared & a taxi cab strike, Dallas as a superbowl host = FAIL.

At least the game was good.

Ok so we're all in agreement, this was the best halftime show.
