When it comes to tomorrow's Super Bowl, it's hard to think of a more unwatchable match-up for diehard Chargers fans.
Who do you pull for? The New England Patriots have knocked the Chargers out of the playoffs the last two seasons. Last year, some of their players danced at Qualcomm's midfield as if to rub it in.

The New York Giants, meanwhile, are led by quarterback Eli Manning, who four years ago told the Chargers not to draft him because, well, he thought the team pretty much stank. It did, but still . .
That kind of choice is enough to turn off even the most ardent San Diego football fans.
“I will not be watching the Super Bowl,” said Jeff Williams, 31, who runs a blog called Chargers Coverage. “I can't stand the Patriots, I can't stand Eli.”
Williams, a Ramona resident who's been a Chargers fan all his life, plans to go to Disneyland instead. “I'm hoping it will be a slow day at the Magical Kingdom.”
No inviting the buddies over? Firing up the TV? Loading up on chips and salsa? “I just know I won't be able to enjoy it,” he said.
Football fans normally love Super Sunday, even if their team doesn't make it. For one thing, it's the last real game of the season, meaning life is pretty much over until next season. And some story line is usually compelling enough to make the game interesting.
Last year, long-suffering Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning – Eli's brother – finally got his ring.
The year before, the Pittsburgh Steelers came out of nowhere and won it.
    This year?
Well, the Patriots are 18-0 and on the verge of a perfect season, which has the national media jazzed. And the Patriots also boast Junior Seau, the former San Diego Chargers standout.
Doesn't matter. None of it is enough to entice Ted Stringer.
“This is going to be the worst Super Bowl ever,” said Stringer, a native San Diegan and longtime Chargers fan. “I honestly feel like the season has ended and the Super Bowl has taken on the feel of the Pro-Bowl. Who cares who wins?”
Stringer plans to record the game and fast-forward through it to watch the commercials.
    “How ironic is that?”
The perfect record and Seau connection are enough to get Santee resident and Chargers fan Allen Williams rooting for the Patriots, at least lukewarmly.
“Although the Pats' date with destiny has at some part come at the Chargers' expense, it would be better than seeing Eli lift the Lombardi Trophy,” he said.
He doesn't much like Eli. When the Giants played here two years ago, he said, he booed him for about 3½ quarters.
Other Chargers fans are managing to root for the Giants, regardless of the Manning snub.
Tad Ryan, for one, doesn't hate Eli Manning because Manning's brush-off led to his trade to the Giants, which got San Diego a ton of talent in return.
“The Patriots are a different story,” the Ramona resident said. “They disrespected us on our own field last year in the playoffs, and destroyed our chances again this year.”
While opinions may be split on which team – if any – should get San Diego's support, fans generally agree that just about any other match-up would have been better.
Except for one: If the Raiders were in it.

Eli Manning has made a huge improvement this post season.

The superbowl tommorw should be a exciting awsome football game.

I've turned this over and over in my mind, and I've decided I have to go with the Giants. Even though I loathe Eli Manning with every fiber of my being, I hate Bill Belicheat and Tom Brady even more, and I wanna see the Patriots FINALLY get a comeuppance.

So what I figured on doing is hoping Manning has a really ****** performance and NY scores all its points on turnovers and the running game. LOL

This Super Bowl is so depressing. Who cares! I have not followed the hype for the past two weeks, because it just does not matter. Well, I still can’t stay away; I will watch the game with my guacamole dip and hope to be entertained by the commercials.

Perfect season…who cares, seen that before. All real Charger fans would agree with this statement: I CAN NOT STAND ELI! No regrets he is not a Charger here, I just think he is an arrogant a**. There is a local Oregon High school player on the Giants who went to Western Oregon College named Kevin Boss. A have a good friend who’s daughter dated him in High school and she told me he is a great guy. So a local NW boy getting a ring would be pretty cool. The problem I have to overcome is if Eli gets a ring the league will be owned by Mannings! This would result is more disturbing commercial with both Mannings sucking up to the camera.
I’m not a Pat fan either, and I hate Belicheat...he is so grumpy! I can’t find the will to root for either team at this point…maybe the pre-game festivities will motivate me to back one of these vile teams.
