If I hear that word one more time this week I think I might :puke:

Maybe all of this "swagger" is really just whistling past the graveyard.

I've always hated the sports media's (and some fans) obsession with and misuse of this term.

I'd hate it even if they were trying to apply it to the Chargers.

People like to pretend that some teams win because they have "swagger".

It's the other way around. You get swagger because you win.

I just see cockiness from the Jets, reminds me alot of 2006 except they haven't done squat to earn it

If anything the Chargers just seem to be going about their business, they're not talking, they're just doing. That's maturity. A swagger should be internal and based on what you do on the field. And that's the Chargers

Cockiness is talking a big game when you haven't done jack. See Ryan, Rex

Another reason I hate this term is because it's always used as an excuse to rationalize listing good (but not great) QBs amongst the elite QBs in the league's history just because the aforementioned QB was on a Super Bowl winning team.

Take a QB like Ben Roethlisberger. I'm not going to slight the guy, he's a good QB. He can even be a damn good QB at times. But one thing he is not is elite. He's a good quarterback who knows how to manage the game while his team's elite defense and running game does the bulk of the work. That is what Ben Roethlisberger is and nothing more.

But what? I'm suggesting a QB with two Super Bowl rings isn't elite? And this is where this term is used as an excuse. You've heard it before.

"Ben may not have the stats or the passing yards or the touchdown passes but he has swagger!!!!! OMGz!"

No, you dumbasses, he has (or had) one of the NFL's best defenses and best running games. And, unlike this year's jets, the Pittsburgh D and run game wasn't a mirage.

Yeah, but this weekend, we will have to deal with the Swaggasaurus Rex (Ryan).

Some say its roar is so loud that it can annoy 9 million football fans in a single press conference. :icon_tease:
