Tailgate #3 - Jests vs. Bolts Get Your Hot Dogs Here! (No Kobayashi)

Thanks to members who contributed at our last little shindig, (nudge, nudge, wink, wink Eurobolts) we have some funding for the next tailgate on Sunday! We still need a few items, but since we are playing the JerseyJetz, we are going with the Nathan's theme, you know, dogs, mustard, onions, kraut, tomatoes, peppers, etc. In other words, there will be Nathan's franks, some brats, and all of the fixings for a great Coney Island style feast, just like back in the boroughs... Right.
I will start the list now, if you want to contribute food to the cause, cut and paste this list, add your name to the item you are bringing, or add any special item you might want to bring that is not on the list. If you wish to show up and enjoy the meal, donations are accepted. If you are planning on attending, let us know how many are in your group so that we can plan on how much food we will need to provide/purchase.

Come on, join the fun, it is too close to Oktoberfest. Beer, brats, dogs, and good times!

Why the sudden lack of interest?

 

I wish I could go does that count?

 

If I can get the airline to cancel my flight home. And my boss will give me an extra week off work. And the landlord will give me a one week extension to the Mission Beach vacation rental. And my bank manager will give me a whole heap of money that I don't have to pay back. And somebody donates game tickets.

Then I'll also be coming along...

Well I don't think I am going to make this game, my Orioles are playing at the same time the Bolts play and I really don't want to miss an O's playoff game, been a fan since '68 and in the past 17 years I have only seen the playoffs twice, really don't want to miss the Bolts game, but I think I will stay up here and watch both!!! Gonna miss the tailgate and good times, but I will be at the next home game and gonna miss Leo, which is always a good time, will see you next time Leo. Go Bolts and see you at the next home game vs Chiefs

Even better… this is a special trip for my son and I… he's moving away to japan for a year so this is our last hurrah… over the years, we've seen many games together… from when he was kid and we went to KC for MNF, to a few years back when we traveled to SD for Christmas and watched the Chargers beat The Broncos on Christmas Eve…

In that spirit, if you Victor or any of your friends know of a needy family… a father who'd like to bring his son to a game but is unable to financially, contact me and we can make it happen.

I'm pulling for the O's....until they (hopefully) run into the Angels.

Can't say I'd be mad if any team in the AL except for Detroit made it to the WS, though. KC and Baltimore are both in the same boat of years of not doing anything and finally having a good team again. That's always something I like seeing.

I wish that would happen with the Padres, but they have to find some players that can hit their way out of a wet paper sack first.

 

We are in the same spot basically, under the trolley bridge in parking section M4.

 

Well it's been a while since I've been able to come down and I will not be there for that one, but I will be down for the Chiefs game. Finally get some time. Sure missed the M4 party. I'll be in touch for the Chiefs tailgate so I can find out what to bring.

 

Anybody want to add their names to the list? Food items?

 

I'll see if there's something I can grab on my way there. Not knowing the area, I won't know till I get there, but we'll bring something, as well as chips and the like… Can't wait!

No takers on the tickets? Nobody know someone who can't afford to attend?

BTW… what time do you guys usually get there? also, anybody know when the Charger's shop opens? I'm buying' me a throwback Fouts Jersey and my son wants an Allen Jersey in Navy. (Also need to get my grandson a new one… he's almost outgrown his #17 Infant jersey!!

 

I think they open the gates for cars around 9. I typically arrive shortly before that from the trolley when I make it out there and wind up standing by myself waiting for everyone else to start rolling in lol

 

Cool! So if I trolleyed there by 9:00, I could go to the Chargers store then make my way into the parking lot?

 

I couldn't tell you what time the store opens.

But as far as getting in the parking lot before nine by trolley I do it all the time.

 

Hold on just a minute or two on that one BBB...

 

I get in there around or before 7 AM, and I can bring an extra chair so you don't have to stand around. Who knows, there may even be a turtle sighting...

I'm currently in El Paso halfway through my Greyhound trip. I should be in San Diego by 10 pm

 

Chargers store is inside the stadium. You'll have to wait until the gates open 90 minutes before game time. There are stands outside the stadium selling Charger gear, but it's mostly current jerseys and other items.
