Not bloody likely. Especially if we're to believe Manning & Wayne are a "package deal".

With that kind of money available, the Broncos could easily get Manning, Wayne, Clark and others.

After we release McNeill it'll be 25M...supposedly. If VJ takes 11M, and Gaither takes 5-6M, and Hardwick 3-4M we'll be hard pressed to sign any outside FA to actually improve this roster.

We'll need to front load the contracts big time, and it could bite us in the *** in the future.

What's the hold up on Gaither and Hardwick?....... they've been talking numbers for a week now. If Tuesday comes around and those two are still unsigned, then the Chargers could be in for a shitstorm.

That is pre-McNeil release. So I'd think if that number is accurate it'd be about 30M in open space....which is close to what I predicted a month ago.

And Dielman's contract is still there as well. So wouldn't be just under $35M?

I don't even want to think about that. We'd be in serious trouble.

Nope, even with all the expected cuts, the Chargers will still be less than $30 million under the cap....... closer to $26 million.

I expect to lose VJ. I don't see Hardwick wanting to leave, but I'd be shocked if AJ let Gaither walk away given what is going on with McNeill. If AJ has any sense of self preservation he won't let his #1 WR and both his LT options dissapear in a season where his job is clearly on the line.

I don't get it though.. we should still be at $30M ATLEAST by Tuesday with no signings, etc.

I've been projecting more than 30M since January, I have no idea where all these low ball numbers are coming from. So unless we signed Demorrio Williams to a 5M a year deal...yes, what you say is right.

same goes for Jammer and Phillips who've had 2 bad years in a row and are making $4M+ and $5M+

And Volek making $3M+ as well.. AJ is one hell of a GM

Actually.... Jammer had the best year of his carrer in 2010, he was right up there with Revis in terms of % of receptions against him. And Phillips had 11 sacks, his best since 2006 when Wade Phillips was running the defense. Ron Rivera was the truth.

I've gone on a limb that Greg Manusky was 90% of our problem last year, but obviously Jammer, Phillips, and Cason for that matter will need to have muuuch better campaigns to prove me right on that.

I want Clary, LaBoy, and English gone though.

Phillips was okay.. yes he had 11 sacks.. but he had 4 sacks against an Arizona offensive line that SUCKED and a team that finished 5-11. then he had a few 1 sack games and only 1 multi-sack game besides the Arizona won and that was 2 against Denver.

And Jammer did have a good season i take that back. But after last season it showed he certainly was a step behind everybody and just doesn't have it anymore.

LaBoy I think can get kick started if Phillips, Barnes, English, and another pass rusher (FA or Draft) get attention from other teams. LaBoy was the starter for most the year so he got a lot of snaps for a guy who was only supposed to be rotated in.

English I just don't see AJ cutting, I agree but he feels as if this is his last chance/season to prove his 1st round worthiness. And Clary I completely agree..

I thought last season was English's final chance to prove he was worth keeping around. ;)

So basically all this crap about us having "room to maneuver" was just BS. I think we can forget about VJ, and the Mario Williams thing was rediculous from the start.

Well the skins can forget VJ....just fined 36M in cap space! And Cowboys nailed for 10M

All of which will be spreaded to the other teams as available cap.

Just heard about that. $36 Million...wow.

They can spread it over 2 years in any combo they want though:
