Poor guy, he was never cut out to be a HC period. Idiot Snyder needs to be removed himself. He has no idea, worse than Al Davis.

And now he is going to hire a re-tread in Shanahan who will improve things (that would not be hard) but will not be the answer.

Wonder will Mangini survive after winning last 3 games?.

Cowher's probably waiting to see if the Carolina job opens up.

I know they are interviewing Billick this week - they wanted to interview Rivera too but if the past couple of years are any indication he has always said he wouldn't interview anywhere until the Chargers season is over b/c this is his current team and current focus. Hopefully that continues - I (selfishly) don't want to lose him after just one year running our defense, eventho I think he deserves a shot at being a HC somewhere.

I could see Cowher in Buffalo w/Nix - good owner who (like Rooney) and a very loyal fanbase. The current talent isn't entirely terrible either. :icon_shrug:

Mora should go in Seattle, he keeps running Julius Jones despite the entire universe telling him to use Justin Forsett.

    Seattle - probably

Cleveland - Mangina probably saved his job with a 4 game winning streak, but still a possibility

Oakland - Definite probability, it is every year

Tampa Bay - I doubt it only because it's his first year and TB doesn't have an impatient owner like Al Davis or Dan Snyder.

Giants - His Super Bowl ring probably saves him (regardless of whether or not it should)

Chicago - Lovie has two years left on an expensive contract, he stays because of that.

    Denver - See Tampa Bay

IMO... those three teams would be awfully stupid if they fired their HC.

I'm worried Al might realise he does actually need a full time proper NFL GM and not keep ruining the franchise himself.

    Long live Al.

    Redskins plane seen in Denver

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 4, 2010 1:40 PM ET

The latest sign Mike Shanhan will be the Redskins head coach: There are multiple reports that the Redskins team plane has spent some quality time in Denver.

The Washington Post reports that Dan Snyder's plane landed in Denver at 10:45 this morning, while KOA radio in Denver reports the plane was there last night. Mike Florio, meanwhile, has a source that says the plane is on its way back as we type.

The passenger list is not available, but Shanahan's arrival in Washington now seems to be a matter of when, not if.

Local radio is quoting sources at the Washington Post that Shanahan will be named HC tomorrow...and they are usually right on the mark.

Kubiak was a decent FG kicker away from winning 2 more games and going 11-5 this year. Narrow losses to the Colts and the Titans because their kicker missed 40 yard FGs in a dome to tie those games and send them into overtime.

He stays and the Texans will be a real threat to the division next year.

ExtremeSkins over the weekend had an article that said that Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen were already meeting and reviewing potential assistant coaches. Sure sounded like Shanny's the HC in all intent except for the final ink on the contract and the press conference.

All that's needed is for him to be fitted with Daniel Snyder's saddle and muzzle

Giants fire defensive coordinator Sheridan after only one season

    Associated Press

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan has been fired.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin dismissed the first-year coordinator late Monday afternoon, just hours after saying that Sheridan's future with the team would be evaluated in the wake of an 8-8 season that ended with losses in eight of the final 11 games.

The Giants' defense struggled this season, giving up 427 points, ranking it third from the bottom in the NFL. Only the Detroit Lions and St. Louis Rams gave up more points.

Sheridan was elevated from linebackers coach to defensive coordinator after Steve Spagnuolo became the Rams' coach. Spagnuolo was the architect of the defense that led the Giants to a Super Bowl victory over the previously unbeaten New England Patriots in February 2008.
