I think this upcoming game is going to be the defining moment of the season. The chargers are going on the road against a team a win away from their first playoff in more than a decade. If Norv and the Chargers have any sense they'll know it'll be a very tough outing and won't be as easy as last week. If the season is to be salvaged it'll be in this game if not it'll be the end of the Norv Turner era.

yes, it defines us, we have to win a game and hope other teams lose

its what defines this team four out of the last five years

Unfortunately, since the Chargers do not control their own destiny we may have already have had our defining moment, and not in a good way. Any of these might qualify:

    - NYJ: 4th quarter meltdown (this is a killer due to tiebreaker issues)
    - OAK, CHI: Critical picks kill late drives with game in reach
    - KC: Do I really have to say anything about this one?
    - DEN: Missed FG in OT, which should have been a closer try were Norv not possessed temporarily by Marty

We'll likely know by 4:00 if this game even matters.

Looks like Norv will be back.

Put simply, it sounds like the Chargers winning out -- they play at Detroit on Christmas Eve and then at Oakland on New Year's Day -- will save the jobs of Turner and Smith.

After the Chargers victory over the Ravens in Week 14 it appeared as if the tides were starting to turn in Norv's favor; Philip Rivers said "it would be crazy" to dump the coach and Acee reported that just getting to the Raiders game with a shot at the playoffs would "speak volumes" to team president Dean Spanos.
