They stole the Rams signals in the first game the two teams played that season.

Look back to that game winning field goal drive against the Rams. The Patriots are in the no huddle offense. The Rams are signaling in their defensive plays. The Patriots have stolen these aforementioned signals by breaking NFL rules. Magically, the Rams don’t even come close to stopping the Patriots from getting into field goal range… Game.

The advantage of having a camera recording defensive signals in the coordinators box is unbelievable, all you'd have to do is tell the HC over the radio what play you think the defense is going to run..........and wham! Bellichick looks like a genious for calling the right plays at the right time.

It would explain why the Patriots were always so good at coming back in the 4th quarter despite not having elite talent around Tom Brady. It actually explains A LOT of phenomenons surrounding that organization in terms of being able to plug any average player (like Jabar Gaffney or Troy Brown) in any position without missing a step.

the sad thing is the nfl like everyone else knows that the pats cheated big time to win those super bowls. And the nfl does nothing. BAsically makes the league a sham. Either the nfl wanted the pats to win those years or the nfl never figured out the pats cheated to win till now and are trying extremely to cover it all up.

HEXEDBOLT Don't like it, lump it!!!

Quit whining about this bs. if todays game was like it was in the 60's and 70's there would be no signals to steal, it's a product of so called progress.

Norv should teach and let Rivers call the game and also let coop or whoever they choose call the defense. signals fake plays and put the game back into the players hands.

It's only cheating when you get caught, so far we have been lucky. we look squeaky clean.

It really would be nice to see QB's call their own plays again. But that will never happen, outside of audibles.

With regards to the Patriots - phuc 'em. I'm not wasting any more energy giving a flying crap about them. They know what they are, the media knows what they are, the NFL knows what they are, & true fans of the game know what they are.

If only one good thing comes of this is that the pats come back to the pack and are just one of several good teams it will be good.

How sweet it will be to play them on an even field next year. Look how we went toe to toe with them last year after they couldn't cheat anymore that we know of.

This year if we are healthy, look for a different outcome.:abq1:

When they signed Randy Moss last year, they broke from the "Patriot Way". They also threw down big loot on Adalius Thomas. Signed another super-talented, yet headspun WR in Donte Stallworth. They made headlines during Free Agency and they made headlines during the regular season. But they failed to do the one thing the Pats have been known for... STACK POSITIONS FOR DEPTH. And they paid dearly for it down the stretch. Their CBs and LBs were flat out WORN OUT when it mattered most. And so the headlines they made on Superbowl Sunday were the only ones that really mattered.

IMO, they've deviated from what made them so successful during their Superbowl Championship runs... and the downward spiral continues through next season. BANK IT.

    Super Bowl Hangover
How This Decade's Super Bowl Losers Fared The Following Season
Year Super Bowl Loser Win/Loss Record Playoff Record Final Outcome

    2001 N.Y. Giants 7-9 N/A Missed Playoffs

    2002 St. Louis 7-9 N/A Missed Playoffs

    2003 Oakland 4-12 N/A Missed Playoffs

    2004 Carolina 7-9 N/A Missed Playoffs

    2005 Philadelphia 6-10 N/A Missed Playoffs

    2006 Seattle 9-7 1-1 NFC Divisional Round

    2007 Chicago 7-9 N/A Missed Playoffs

    Composite Record: 47-65, .420
    Playoff Wins: 1

Not very good news for the Patsies fans. Remember 1994 the Chargers were back in the playoffs the following year but we stank when Jim Harbaugh and the Colts stunned us at the Murph!

18-1 choke artists and cheaters, the dark storm clouds are hanging over that franchise.

    ...And on top of that:

Then there's the schedule. Last year, New England played 15-of-16 games in the Eastern Time Zone and never traveled west of Dallas until the Super Bowl. This year, the Patriots have a September bye, then play 13 straight weeks, including three trips to California, one to Seattle and one to Indianapolis. They play four night games -- it's likely at least one more will be moved to accommodate NBC's flex schedule -- and a short-week Thursday game against their old friends from Long Island.

Their road won't be anywhere near as easy this time around. You can also count on everyone gunning for them right out of the gate.
