    Greetings everyone from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas; I don't celebrate Xmas so why not be hedonistic?
    Rivers obviously did not have a good game, had just a few good plays, and some very obvious drops by people who have good hands and some real good defensive plays. This wasn't the KC game and I think RIvers has turned the corner.

    What has been the cause of Rivers poor play? One word; pressure.
    KC threw alot of unique blitzes that, though not always got to Rivers or pressured him, made him sufficiently nervous to get happy feet and not plant his feet to throw. The seahawks definely pressured Rivers early and scared him enough to not plant his feet or throw properly. Once Rivers got some breathing room in the pocket his passes were more on target, were mostly imcomplete by good defensive plays and drops. All Rivers need is to not be so heavily pressured, get his OL to give him some breathing room and he's fine. THat's what happened with his big completions and his two TDS

    This is the #1 thing that worries me about Baltimore. Granted, we have the advantage of having seen it once, but for some reason that team is the only one left that I am afraid of seeing in late January. We need to take care of Arizona and make sure that it is here.

    Rivers play is not improving at all. If anything it is deteriorating. If he wants to remain the Quarterback of this team, he had better pull his head out of his ***, and start playing. If he thinks he is god’s gift to quarterbacks, these last 4 Games have been pure hell. Thank god we have LT. We will not go anywhere in the playoffs with that kind of play. KC did it, and Seattle just proved that theory correct. If you pressure Mr. Rivers, he crumbles. And at this time of the season, he has seen enough film, and has received enough playing time; he is no longer a starting rookie quarterback.

    Why don't you change your avatar to Calvin pissing on Rivers?

    If you want to knock Philip, fine. But get your facts right. Philip's last four games have not been awful. He played very well against Denver three weeks ago, posting a 130+ QB rating

    As off as he was today, he had 2 TDs and no Ints, and he made a great throw to win the game. That's what counts.

    Lots of teams have blitzed Rivers and he has burned them He just needs to calm down and make the plays he's been making all year. Come to think of it, you might want to calm down, too.

    Look at our December games:

    Raiders - very good pass defense that plays man-to-man very well.

    Buffalo - cold, snowy, windy weather.

    Denver - relatively easy.

    Chiefs - decent pass defense with good pass rush pressure in the cold nighttime air.

    Seattle - cold, rainy, windy weather.

    Notice that Philip's one very good, great, game in December was in the daytime, with good weather, and against a team with below average pass rush and pass defense.

    Two of Rivers' below average performances have been due to bad weather.

    Another was because of one of the league's top pass defenses.

    Yet another was due to sustained pass rush pressure from a team that frequently plays the Chargers tough, regardless of QB.

    It's a good thing that San Diego will be playing all it's games at home (we'll win next week) and the Super Bowl is in warm Miami.

    Hey GO how about your boy Anthony Spencer he is looking good. Purdue knows how to dish out elite pass rushers. Edwards, Phillips, Spencer...

    :yes: sent a pm to leisure about him... worried that next year we might not have an elite pass rusher. The good thing about Spencer is that he plays the run better than my boi, shaun...

    So far this season, here's a comparison of Rivers versus 2 QBs each of whom could have been in a Charger uniform this season:

    Philip Rivers
    ============
    Today: 10 of 30, 181 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT --> WIN
    Season: 3157 yards passing, 20 TD, 8 INT
    13 wins in first 15 games starting
    ** Elected to the Pro Bowl in his first full season starting **

    Elisha Manning
    ============
    Today: 9 of 25, 74 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT --> LOSS
    Season: 3153 yards passing, 22 TD, 17 INT
    7 wins in first 15 games starting
    ** No Pro Bowls in any season **

    Michael Vick
    ============
    Today: 9 of 20, 109 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT --> LOSS
    Season: 2393 yards passing, 19 TD, 13 INT
    9 wins in first 15 games starting
    ** Pro Bowl in first full season starting but none this year **
