After listening to the draft gurus (read: pundits and idiots) and what they think will be the next big thing in this year's draft, let's hear about this class of potential collegiates who you think will NOT make it in the NFL due to washing out, performance issues, arrests, and just plain not good enough to be in the big leagues.

    Mays - WAY over rated
Blount - See video of when he went batshit crazy
Tebow - a RUN FIRST QB. How well do those types of QB's fair in the NFL?

Cody. He may still be in the league 3-4 years from now, but he will eat his way out of being any kind of dominant player

Carlos Dunlap - mentally too screwed up
Bruce Campbell - will have his development messed up
Tim Tebow - just doesn't have an NFL position
Jimmy Claussen - mentally too much of a baby
Sam Bradford - too injured, too weak of an arm

I maintain that Mays and Cody won't be busts

Clausen has some Rivers mentality in him, but not quite the accuracy or leadership. I'm surprised so many people think he'll bust.

I think at least he has a middle of the road carrer, somewhere between Jake Delhomme and David Garrard level. I doubt he busts like Brady Quinn who just can't handle pressure.

I wouldn't compare Claussen to Rivers. I've heard that Claussen is dumb as a box of rocks and Rivers is the polar opposite and mentally tough to boot. He may be a competitor but that's about the end of any comparisons. I think he'll be a giant bust too.

I think Taylor Mays is also going to be a big time bust. I don't think the same about Cody though. I think he is already showing that he CAN discipline himself...and if he takes that to another level working diligently with an NFL teams training staff...then look out...The guy is already riculously strong and athletic, fat as he is...Imagine if he shaped up a little more.

The only 2 times he's ever cut weight is when Alabama recruited him as a JUCO, and now that he smells a 1st round contract within reach. I'm not conviced he's showing us anything other than a late push to avoid falling to the 3rd round.

And it concerns me that the "biggest/strongest" NT in this draft only put up 22 reps. I'm not one to fret over combine numbers, but that one shocked me.

Since he's playing NT, I'd be more interested in what he can squat than his bench press.

Really? Is that why he had the lowest Bench press numbers of all the NT's available? He may have been strong at 370, but since he droped the weight, he dropped strength also. He is a pig that will eat his way out of the league in 4-5 years

Doesn't make the Bench numbers any less telling. 22 reps for a 350-400 pound guy is WEAK!

Not happening, I am too smart for that. Just like I wouldn't call a MMA fighter a puss to his face after he gets knocked out in a fight.

It is all relative. Cody is a fat pig for a pro athlete, and has only lost weight to get his pay day. I see no reason why he won't be a lazy player like Jamarus Russell who feels entitled to his contract rather than feeling like he needs to work hard to earn it

No you're not too smart for it. You just like to make absolute statements about people who you don't know.

Smart isn't the word for what you do. Cowardly would be a much more appropriate term.

Your reference to Jamarcus Russell is laughable. Russell is a fairly large man who plays QB & therefore should be keeping his weight in the range that is acceptable for that position. Cody, on the other hand, is meant to be a plug in the middle of a 3-4 defense & to tie up double or even triple-teams in order to keep the ILB's clean to make plays. In addition to that, Cody has at the very least shown intent to be in shape to play. Russell already has a fat contract yet appears to be doing very little to keep himself in shape.

I hope that I could clear up those little misconceptions for you.

No matter if they play NT or Punter, NFL players are athletes and need to maintain a physical condition that allows them to do their job. At 350, Cody is too weak for his job, at 370-380, he doesn't have the endurance to play more than 2 downs in a row.

Once Cody gets his contract, he will be just like Russell, and will do "very little to keep himself in shape".

Its muscle endurance in general that I worry about. Along with work ethic off the field to stay in shape and lift those weights. One offseason with that new money and away from the trainers, I could see this guy blowing up.

No doubt that it's a concern. I just take a little issue with the guarantees that he'll bust & calling him a fat pig.

Like I said - we'll just have to wait & see.

I am just a cynic. I have seen too many players stop working once they hit their payday. And with guys who have weight issues, when they stop working, they are out of the league. And since Cody has only gotten his weight under control twice, once coming out of JC and now coming out of the university. When he doesn't have another step to achieve, I just don't think he will have any motivation to keep the weight off.

You are right, it isn't a guarantee. But I do think the odds are much of his ballooning compared to him staying in shape, and I think the risk is way too high for a 1st or even a 2nd round pick.

If we just wanted a fat pig to occupy space, we could have kept Brandon McKinney who is just as big as Cody
