AN DIEGO - Team 10 obtained video that shows San Diego Chargers linebacker Thomas Keiser attacking a restaurant employee.

Keiser is seen attacking an employee of barleymash, a downtown bar and restaurant. The fight landed the football player in big legal trouble.

In the video, Keiser is seen going to the restroom and then sitting in a chair for about 1 minute and 15 seconds. He then grabs the employee, who is wearing a plaid shirt, from behind.

Keiser throws him to the ground and punches him several times and then runs back into the main restaurant area.

The 6-foot-4-inch, 260-pound Chargers player is clearly seen lifting his right arm to hit the man on the ground repeatedly while the employee struggles under the blows on the floor.

Stunned bar patrons stand around in shock, and eventually another employee comes out and sees what happened. But at that point, the fight seems to be over.

The attack was quick – it only lasted about 10 seconds – but it was enough to place Keiser under arrest and get sent to jail.

A source told Team 10 Keiser was at barleymash in the Gaslamp Quarter with a male relative, possibly his father, the night of Dec. 29.

The incident occurred just hours after the Chargers' win over the Kansas City Chiefs, a win that earned San Diego a spot in the playoffs. But that downtown partying came to a sour end.

Sources said a manager told Keiser's father he was cut off from the bar because he had too much to drink. The linebacker bought another round anyway, and that is when the manager threw father and son both out, according to a source.

A source said Keiser then re-entered the bar and attacked the employee in what the owners called an "ambush."

Keiser was charged with misdemeanor battery and posted bail at $8,000.

On March 24, Keiser pleaded guilty in a plea deal arranged by attorney Paul Pfingst. He was sentenced to probation, ordered to pay a fine and complete 20 hours of counseling for anger management.

His next court date is scheduled for the end of May to prove he completed counseling.

Keiser and his father have not been able to be reached for comment.

Team 10 obtained the video by filing a written request to get a copy after Pfingst arranged for a plea deal away from the media.

Despite how violent the video looks, Keiser has not been suspended.

Keiser went on to play against the Cincinnati Bengals in a playoff game, which they won. He also played the following week in a loss to the Denver Broncos.

Team 10 has not yet received a comment from Keiser and the Chargers are not speaking either. The Chargers have also not taken any disciplinary action against Keiser.

He hits like a p*ssy because the guy in plaid shirt who was being assaulted by (seemingly) Kaiser still managed to cover then get up and run after him. Despite Kaiser being listed at 6'4" / 260, the security guy doesn't seem to have been too phased out by that cowardice ambush.

If the security guy knew any Jiu-Jitsu, he could have easily taken Kaiser to the ground and would have probably choked him out. Kaiser could have been easily toppled in that stand throwing the haymakers!

He pled guilty and paid his fine. Legally this crap is done. The team and the civil implications are made worse by the video.

No, just the fact they're vilifying this guy and to bring it up all over again seems petty to me.
