Hello everyone, I was gone for a week in Mammoth with the family. We did a little fishing,
horseback riding, hiking, swimming in the pool, it was all very fun.

There was a really nice beach area on the shore on this lake. It was great for my younger daughters, because they were starting to get homesick for SoCal.

The girls got a real kick out of feeding this little guy their Oreos. My 5-year-old named him "Chippie".

I loved going to Mammoth as a kid. Did you guys make it to Devil's Postpile? It's a great place in the summer as well as the winter.
    Great pics bro.

I love going to North Lake, South Lake and Lake Sabrina, and doing some Fly Fishing on the Bishop Creek. I have wanted to head up to Mammoth Lakes, TK have you ever gotten a Sierra Slam?

    You do have beautiful kids.

The other thing I noticed is that you have gone soft. Those big gun pics most be a few years back.

BDH, it’s hard to get my kids to root for a team that sucks.

Chippie, that is the best my son can do. You should see the pics that didn’t make the cut.

Yeah, we checked out Devil’s Postpile. Good stuff.

No, I really wanted to check it out. We'll do that next time.

Main thing I noticed is, the bears have gotten a lot more brave since I was up there last. If you go fishing around dusk, you are guaranteed to see bears strolling on the shore, looking to eat your fish, and the snacks and bait out of your backpack and tackle boxes. It happened twice to us, on different lakes.

The hot springs are pretty touristed out. Tons of pasty Euro Trash when we went there last. Geez, that must have been 5 or six years ago (as far as Summertime).

They were ok, but I could see how they might be kinda dangerous for kids. The water can take some extreme temperature jumps by wandering into the wrong area, at least that is what the MANY warning signs there state.

Sucks about the bears. That would probably scare the crap outta me, but at least if the bear charged, you had your kids with you. You could have picked your least favorite child to throw to the bear as a sacrifice, meanwhile grabbing the other three and making a run to safety.

    Thanks a lot, Eric. :)

That is actually very astute, EC.

Parents who claim that they love all their kids equally as much are talking out of their ***.

Dude, I live in MILF Paradise, in South Orange County. I go anywhere else, and it is a major downgrade.

Guys from Oakland might think that Mammoth Lakes has some hot older women, though.

I killed a deer at Mammoth about 25 years ago .... almost stepped on a mountain lion the same day. Stupid thing was sleeping near a rock outcropping, and I snuck right up on him. Scared the crap out of me and him.
