Jets acquire Tim Tebow from Broncos for fourth-round pick
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 21, 2012, 12:51 PM EDT

Tim Tebow is a New York Jet.

One day after the Denver Broncos signed Peyton Manning as their new starting quarterback, Denver has traded Tebow to the Jets for a fourth-round draft pick.

The trade ends a tenure in Denver with Tebow that was one of the most astonishing two-year stints that any player has ever had with any team. Tebow was a surprise first-round draft pick in the 2010 NFL draft, then surprisingly became the starter in the fifth game of the 2011 season, and then shockingly led the Broncos to a series of improbable comeback victories and became arguably the NFL’s biggest star.

And now Tebow is with the Jets, one of the many teams he beat with a great fourth-quarter comeback last season. It’s not clear whether the Jets plan to allow Tebow to compete for the starting job, or whether they expect him to be a wildcat quarterback, but the player who’s as famous as any in the league is now in the Big Apple.

Mark Sanchez, Tebowmania is in your rear-view mirror.

    Poor little Cro

The Jets reportedly are interested in Tebow. Cromartie isn’t.

We don’t need Tebow,” Cromartie wrote on Twitter. ”We sell out every home game let him go to Jacksonville Tampa or Miami. Our wildcat offense can b ran by J. Kerley or Joe McKnight we straight.” :roflmao:

Good pickup for them, they put a big star on a big stage at a low cost, at the very least he'll sell tickets and jerseys for them.

Sanchez isn't really a franchise QB either (not saying Tebow is), but there should at least be competition for the starting job now.

I'm betting that Tebow & Sanchez elope to the Phillipines where they open a circumcision clinic.

Better yet, I can just imagine Tebone and Cro having locker room discussions on planned parenthood and chastity...

If Tbow is playing behind the primary QB, is that the same thing as a dirty sanchez?

Tebow is the most outgoing Catholic in the league and he gets traded to the serpents of New York.. He's going to convert that locker room like when he turned water to wine!

Cromartie is a douchebag, f-him.. I tweeted back to him he's such a clown. He never shuts his mouth.

This looks like a time-bomb to me. Not only did Elway straight up sodomize the Jets in this trade (considering how awful taking Tebow in the 1st was, he probably recouped more than anyone could possibly have expected), he unloaded a huge distraction from his team, and gave it to a team with questions at QB, and Divas throughout their lockerroom.

Hopefully the Jets implode before we play them this season.

Wow, can you imagine Tebow's reaction to a Rex Ryan speech, which will no doubt be laced with profanity...

He'll jump up throw holy water on Rex and scream "The power of christ compels you!"

And lord only knows what happens when Cromartie starts talking to him :whistling:

So let's see: the most dysfunctional locker room in the NFL
adds a player with an irrational, fanatical following,
despite having a so-so quarterback already considered marginal...

Yeah, that's gonna work out just great! (Looks like Rexy's 4th straight Super Bowl win!)

Either that, or he will place his hands on Ryan's forehead and heal him of the demon that has him talking in tongues.

If Tim Tebow Jets deal is nixed, Jaguars will be in the mix
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 21, 2012, 4:52 PM EDT

As Tim Tebow’s trade to the Jets hangs in the balance over a disputed $5 million payment, a team that could get much more than $5 million in ticket revenue from Tebow’s presence is considering trading for him.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are now in the mix and attempting to work out a trade with the Broncos for Tebow, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. Tebow was a national championship-winning and Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback for the Florida Gators and is an enormously popular figure there, and he more than any other player could alleviate the Jaguars’ perpetual problems with filling their stadium. Jaguars owner Shad Khan has made no secret that he’d love to see Tebow in a Jaguars uniform, although the football people in Jacksonville don’t appear to be particularly interested in his services.

Meanwhile, the Rams also appear to have some interest in Tebow and have discussed a deal with the Broncos as well.

The Broncos and Jets initially agreed to a trade that would send Tebow and a seventh-round pick to New York in exchange for a fourth-round pick and a sixth-round pick. But that trade hit a sticking point when the Jets realized that Tebow’s contract had a clause that required some $5 million in salary advances he has already received to be sent back to the Broncos by any team that acquires him.

The Jets apparently didn’t fully read Tebow’s contract before agreeing to the deal. And although the Jets formally announced the trade, they did not finalize it with the league office, which is required before any trade becomes official. So it appears that the Jets will be able to back out of the deal now that they realize how much Tebow would cost them.

And that could result in Tebow ending up where he wants to go, back home in Florida.

Most likely though, Tbow will just forgive everybody, then walk into the showers where the waters will part for him and he won't even need a towel...

Actually, I'm pretty sure Teblow is a Baptist (not that it makes a difference).

Apparently this is now hung up on a contract clause in Tebow's deal requiring any trade partner to give the Donks 5 million bucks.

Catholics are Christians, but that isn't the point, Tebow is a baptist, not a catholic.

The Donks are expecting a trade partner to pay them 5 million for a ****** fullback who is barely worth a draft pick? Good luck with that.

    Tebow a Jet or Jag?

The Jets announced they had acquired Tim Tebow in a trade from the Broncos. Then a feud over money put Tebow's hometown team, the Jaguars, back in the picture. Read

These guys throw around millions like it's nothing and Tebow hasn't done anything yet. I'd rather he went to the Jags, oh well it ain't my cash.
