We aren’t going ANYWHERE with Norv and Cottrell on the staff in any capacity. So the first order of business is letting them both go, and doing it yesterday.

Next, promote Ron Rivera to interim head coach. He’ll be able to relate to our younger players. I don’t blame Rivera for the poor performance by out ILB’s. The entire defense is sucking so that’s on Cottrell. Anyways, I’d like to see what Rivera could do, I think he’s the best head coach option. If it turns out he's in over his head, or not a good fit for any reason, no biggie we just look for a permanent solution after the season.

Clarence Shelmon will call the plays on offense; hopefully he’d simplify the playbook, run things Philip Rivers is comfortable with. Norv doubled the amount of plays, which I think is contributing to Philip’s poor start. If Marty was comfortable with Shelmon as an OC, then that is good enough for me.

Finally, promote Pagano to DC. He’s familiar with the system and players, and Rivera could exert more of his influence as well, which is “playing downhill” and attacking the ball.

This team needs drastic changes, while still giving the team the chance to win. TK’s Fix will accomplish both.

Good to see that you are not hitting the panic button yet on a team one game removed from first place.

    YES!
Find a way to get this done RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!

There is no possible way that wouldnt be an upgrade right now

THe ONLY thing i would change though, is that i would want Ramsdell to become the OC. Hes learned from a couple of the better offensive minds in the NFL (MIKE MARTZ!) and is a guy who spends alot of time with Rivers and knows his pros/cons better than anyone

I think that we need to stay the course. Thousand points of light. No new taxes.

At the end of the year nuke the coaching staff and start fresh with a young guy.

I was thinking of Ramsdell too. You talked me into it.

Hay, you guys that think we are being reactionary:

I have ZERO CONFIDENCE that Norv can dig us out of this hole, so we have nothing to lose by going the interim head coach route.

Might as well try to make the playoffs while it is still a strong possiblity. LT doesnt have many prime years left.

I don't know how much influence he can have as the inside linebackers coach.

I DO know there's been rumblings in Chicago that the Bear defense misses Rivera.

I'd have no problems taking my chances with Rivera, as opposed to seeing if Norv can right the ship.

The shot at an NFL job will bring interest out of many highly regarded and successful College FB coaches. It's a huge promotion for them. I'm sure Meyer would think about it if given the opportunity.

I know I know.......... forget about canning Norv and Ted.

    I have the fix!.

Trade Olivea for Winston Justice, that way we have RT position sorted for years and no more fumbles by Rivers after rushers from that side have killed him.....

Anyone see Winston last nite he was awesome.

Ahem, the above is sarcasm, just think alot of us wanted to draft this stiff.

At least he could have the ILBers playing well. They are one of the biggest underperforming units vs. expectations on the defense. Everyone thought based on last years performance we could lose our vets and improve with the young guys. That clearly hasn't been the case. I know one has been hurt, but neither has been good. Our backup LBers played much better filling in last year.

The rumblings in Chicago I hear are about how much they miss an offense. At least at times last year they would get lucky and get a good performance out of Grossman. Not so this year.

Its funny how every time ANY player attempts to strip a ball, people say "that's Rivera, he taught 'em that" etc. So he gets credit for coaching the ENTIRE defense that technique, but then he gets NONE of the blame when the entire defense is horrible. If he gets the chance to teach them to strip the ball don't you think he has some input on tackling, game plans, etc?? I do. He's been ALL HYPE. He's like the backup QB that never plays and everyone thinks would win the game just because they haven't seen him screw up yet.

We run a 3-4 and he doesn't even know how to run a 3-4 defense. Your defensive minded head coach can't run your defense?

I don't think he's a legit HC candidate in this league yet. Of course I KNOW Norv isn't so I guess it would be an improvement for this year. I just don't want him any where near considered for next year. Just my opinion.

This is the more likely to happen solution compared to Leisures FIX it thread but I'd still favor his idea.

Both are great becuase 99% of what needs to happen is fire Norv and Ted.
