I totally agree with the last 3 posts. Resigns means quits his post. The OP me scared for a minute. I really like Yogi, I think he will be a very decent contributor in 2010, he is already great on ST, wanna see more of him as a RB.

I know he didnt cost "the farm"...or come from LSU...or fail to see the field on offense....but I think Tolbert might just be the best FB we have had besides LoNeal.

Hester has been a flop outside of Special Teams, meanwhile Tolbert has been great on Special Teams while showing he can rumble for the short yards and has Manu-soft hands.

I am a long time AJ Hater, but even I give the Maytag Repairman of GMs credit for bringing Tolbert in. Meanwhile, his other FB pick should have him in stocks in the public square.

I dont get all the apathy around this move....having this guy on the roster is a very positive thing. Norv doesnt know how to use his runners and he doesnt have the O line for them to succeed in the first place, but Tolbert was still able to impress me quite a bit last season. Does anyone doubt that we will have a questionable line and that he is the best non-Oline run blocker that we have?

I had to log in from my usual lurking post to address this. Bolt Talk, you crazy.:icon_tease:

Thats a reaaaaaly good point. I feel dumb hahaha. Its not like football players resign though? I mean never heard of that they usually call it retirement...? Now a coach could definately resign...

I don't think there's any level of apathy here about tolbert.. I think we're all happy as hell to have him still here.. I just think we were all expecting him to be re-signed, so the actual news of it wasn't anything that really needed much discussion.

He shows promise...will add good depth.

    Very Happy:tup:

Im hoping for Gerhart over Mathews in the draft.

With our Oline underperforming in Run Blocking...We need a big bruiser thats going to lean foward and pick up as many yards as possible! haha

I can't figure that out, either. Signing him up was a no brainer, but multiple years makes more sense. If he does really well next year, the price will go up-unless there's a lock out. That might explain things.

He fills a need and he's getting better and more adjusted to the league. He's not Loneal in his prime, but he appears to better than anyone we could pick up in the draft at the FB position. I haven't looked at those guys much, but there doesn't seem to be any earth shaking news about any of them. Tolbert's the kind of guy who should be able to acquire especially good blocking leverage. He's better'n a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

The only FB in the draft this year that I'd look twice at is Rashawn Jackson from UVA, but I don't anticipate AJ addressing the position.
