True. Behind Williams and Stewart I don't think he'll get anything but goal line carries.

Goal line carries for them tend to be QB sneaks by Newton though. A bad decision for Mike if he wants more playing time, as he figures to be the 4th running option on their team.

Probably good money, but he'll go nuts sitting on the sideline behind 2 very good RBs.

From reading that Panthers forum it looks to me like they're probably going to attempt to trade Stewart.

Why else would a team with 2 stud RBs sign a RB who mirrors one of their styles?

Evidently, Chargers couldn't compete with cost of living In Raliegh. Agent says M. Tolbert took $1 mil less over 4 years. Gas & taxes alone.

Crazy that he took $1m less and still reckons he will come out with more compared with living in CA. I can't knock him for wanting to be close to home though. Jonathan Stewart better leave or Yogi will spend lots of time playing STs and not much else. I wish him all the best though, really took his chance as an UDFA in SD, good luck to him.

I’ll enjoy seeing that “stanky leg” shaking in Carolina, and I wish Tolbert all the best – unlike VJ, Mike wasn’t just chasing the almighty dollar when he decided to leave San Diego. He took less money than we offered him to go back home, and I can respect him for that.

I’ll miss his effort & effectiveness on special teams, and look forward to seeing his Panthers play their divisional rival Buccaneers twice a year, if you know what I mean!

Good luck to him, he's been a good player for us, enjoyed watching him on the team, looking forward now to whoever we can get to replace him, hopefully better than Jackie Battle.

Acee & the rest of the Bolt-suckers can spin this any way they want.

Just like VJ, Tolbert couldn't wait to get the hell away from the white-hooded Lord of No Rings.

Because Williams has had injury issues, so Tolbert will get carries for him when he goes down

Do not concur – VJ may have wanted to “bolt” (pun intended) San Diego, but Tolbert actually considered re-signing with us, before eventually following his heart and going home.

Besides, what say you about Hardwick, McMichael & the other veteran free agents that we were able to retain? If Vincent Jackson had taken less money than we offered him and still went to play in Tampa, then you would have a legitmate argument.

Agreed, but Randy McMichael has been in the NFL for a decade and has yet to play in the postseason - he would not have happily returned to the Chargers if he didn't think we were a real good bet to get him there, and soon because now the pressure is on both Norv & AJ, neither one of them could survive yet another failed season and still keep their current jobs.

I'm sorry, I'll try to be more thorough with my use of smileys so that you can tell when I'm being a smart-*** & when I'm actually saying something that I intend to argue. ;)

No need - I knew you were being humorous with your last comment, but the point about McMichael was too good not to make. AJ definitely has his detractors, but I doubt if there are any players in the NFL who would not sign up to play here, just because of him - Norv, on the other hand....:D
