hey folks, of course i like marlon and the new kid from utah. but after i read this article i have become convinced that the second coming of ronnie lott in a modern safety is in my boy Sean Taylor. hes a beast, and hes even meaner than last season ( remember the pro bowl). theres no other DB in the league that has his aggressiveness. good thing is, he only signed a 7 yr contract. i told him to sign with the chargers when he was in miami but, 3 yrs from now, who knows... good to be back btw...

Is that your list of top safeties? #1 Taylor, 2 Weddle, etc.? I love my Chargers and everything, but I would trade McCree, Hart, and Weddle for Brian Dawkins or Ed Reed in a heartbeat. Taylor hits like crazy, and so does Roy Williams, but neither can cover well. Polamalu could've, actually should've, been our top secondary player. He's better than Taylor or Williams, he can hit or cover.

    1) Ed Reed
    2) Brian Dawkins
    3) Troy Palomalu
    everyone else

Darren Sharper, Sean Taylor, Bob Sanders, Kerry Rhodes, and Adrian Wilson are up there somewhere, but not at the top 3's status, in my opinion.

He's a good hitter, sure tackler, & plays receivers better when they're in front of him. Sounds like safety material to me.

I know, I know - this has been debated ad nauseum. I'm just still not sold on Jammer as a CB.

    Agreed with the lineup 100%

Watching Rodney pop VY last night got me thinkin' "Ten years ago that qb would've been dead". Then seeing Seau congratulate him i just figured i was having an lsd flashback.

Is this a "Jammer for safety" plug?

Adrian Wilson is better than everyone on your list other than Ed Reed.

Polamalu had a crappy year last season and needs to prove that he can play without Chris Hope.

The Jammer thing is just a joke.

Polamalu had one off year, but I'd take him in an instant, right now, for any two of our safeties.

And I forgot about Adrian Wilson.

    So:

    Reed
    Polamalu
    Dawkins
    Wilson
    Taylor
