Even if we sign MM now he's out the first 3 games b/c we put him on the roster exempt list.

Then the team will suffer. No one says he has to just give MM what ever he wants, but he needs to be a little more flexible and less of a hard ***. Concessions need to be made by AJ and McNeil.

But we still have Dombrowski who can play LT until McNeill comes back and then Dombrowski will move to RT

Dombrowski kept Julius Peppers in check last week. He's not bad, why does everybody think he sucks?

I'm with you. I think he can do a good job.

Let's see how he does vs the Boys tonight.

Way to leave the day after they put Marcus McNeil on the "roster exempt" list. Well, that is three games where the quick pass plan will be prominent. In short, SIGN MARCUS MCNEIL NOW!

I'm not saying he's bad it just that he's unkown versus real competition at LT. Just like when MM was a rookie. That turned out pretty well, maybe
Doms will step up. But then again, he wasn't a second round draft pick like McNeil.

All he had to do was hang out and collect a paycheck. I wonder if the injury had anything to do with it.

Look for the chargers to be combing the cast offs on Aug 31 (75 on roster) and Sept 4 (53 on roster). More likely the 4th since the Aug 31 cuts are a bunch of camp fodder.

I can't wait to watch the replay this afternoon, but in all honesty, I am not putting to much on performance against vanilla preseason defenses.

I, too, think AJ is prefering to wait for Sept 4th to get
small depth than to pay McNeill a lot of money.

Green and Dombrowski will handle Philip's safety !

    To all yall Chicken Littles out there;

The Chargers are not lost without Big Mac. The Running game as well as the short passing game, Full Back protection and Tight End Defensive play will keep Rivers up.

Will he be sacked, sure. He was sacked when Big Mac was in the game.

The team is not going to suffer. The end is not nigh. We will not loose all of our games because Big Mac is sitting at home.

We are better with Big Mac than without, but one player (other than Rivers) is going to sink the team.

We'd all like MM to be playing this year and whether he signs or not the games are still going to be played.

To say unequivocally that the team won't suffer or that nothing of value was lost is, IMO, just as incorrect as saying that we're sunk w/o McNeill.

It will hurt to lose an integral part of the OL. Can we overcome it? I certainly hope so, but don't choke on the kool-aid that says McNeill isn't a loss either.

Nothing of value was lost? Again - just not true. Perhaps this is the angst of butt-hurt speaking? I don't know, but we ARE a better team with McNeill as we stand today. That can change as the line gels with the new parts but to say that we lost nothing of value throws our entire scouting staff right under the bus. Was that the intention?

We overcame personnel losses last year & I believe that we can & will field a very good team again this year. I just can't get on board with the blanket statements that I referenced. My personal opinion is that there is a reason that we aren't privy to as fans for why McNeill isn't being treated like the long-term future at LT. I don't believe that it's about the CBA entirely - that's just a "politically convenient" excuse.

Like Hexed said - the show will go on.
