    <strong>Where's Jeffri?</strong>

In San Diego, where the Chargers train at their team facility a few miles north of Qualcomm Stadium.

    <strong>Here's the Drill</strong>

    1. Pro Bowl tight end Antonio Gates remains the lone Chargers player not in camp. He's been holding out in hopes of landing a long-term deal and thus far talks are progressing slowly. Gates wants money comparable to the highest paid tight ends in the NFL, something close to the $33 million package the Chiefs gave Tony Gonzalez. The Chargers apparently don't want to go that high but something tells me they'll have to get close. After producing 81 receptions and 13 touchdowns in 2004, Gates is too vital to their passing game to not have him locked up with a great deal.
