    Last season, the Chargers' offensive line functioned relatively effectively as a five piece unit until left tackle Roman Oben was lost for the season with serious foot injury. Oben's absence seems to have caused a ‘domino effect' along the entire line.

    With Leander Jordan subbing for Oben, defenses had more success attacking the left tackle spot. As a result, left guard Kris Dielman began ‘cheating' to his left to help seal the gap between between he and Jordan, but as he did so, it left center Nick Hardwick more vulnerable to being bull rushed.</blockquote>
