I'm planning on using the trolley this season just because driving there by yourself and $25 parking fees gets kind of annoying. Besides... living in Point Loma makes it convenient.

Anyway... I took the trolley a few times last season and saw people with 12 packs of beer. I also took it to get Downtown a few times recently and saw people with grocery carts. So I'm assuming you can bring a cooler on the trolley.

So my question is, has anybody ever done this? (or seen people do it)
Just wondering if when you get off the trolley if they might check the cooler at the gate.

I've seen it... I've seen folks drinking on the trolley too, doing a little pre-party on the way to downtown.

Now, is it legal? No idea

I always take the trolley to the games. The transit cops allow you to bring coolers & 12 packs. You're just not allowed to drink beer.

That's how it was last season.

You can take it on the trolley, but if it doesnt fit under the seat, you cant take it into the stadium. I tried bringing a backpack with a tripod inside it for taking some pictures into a game once, I'll never do that again.

    Thanks everybody.

I don't plan on opening beers on the trolley. That's flat out stupid.
And thanks to the info SDH8er but I have places to leave the cooler in the parking lot during the game.

I carry on beers no problem. Keep them cool, small kitchen trash bag, put in beers and ice. put bag into those plasic grocery bags (2 for strength) for easy carrying. Beers will stay cold until you reach tailgate destination. put in beer in your friends coolers. everytime.....

Just to make sure... was this a standard size cooler as opposed to one of the carry on types?

48 qt. Holds about 75 cans. Not full size, but not a personal cooler.

I take Amtrak and the trolley to most games and a cooler is no problem at all.

I've seen some people bring some rather large coolers on. I think you'll be fine. :icon_toast:

Funny thing about that trolley, never saw anyone riding it couple of weeks ago when we were home.
