There's a new Nike commercial featuring San Diego running back LaDanian Tomlinson running through a Bears defense with the only noticeable defender being Harris.

Urlacher didn't yet see the commercial, but the linebacker is not the least bit amused.

"How did we do the last time we played them?" Urlacher said. "How did he do that game? Look at the stats and see how he did."

Urlacher has a point. Tomlinson had 16 rushes for 61 yards and a touchdown in the Bears' 20-7 victory over the Chargers on Nov. 2, 2003.

And 4 years later coming off a MVP season on a much better team than that one was, should be a different outcome.

Maybe Urlacher needs to watch some film from last season.

Four score and a hundred years ago, Chicago held LT to an average game.

Really, our line is completely different, the supporting cast is enormously more talented. 2003 was still the days when you could stack the box against LT. Try that now Urlacher. You'll get burned a few different ways. Nice try.

    Chargers OL in 03 = ****.
Chargers OL in 07 = THE ****!

urlSMACKER has some game, so he can run his lips, we just need to shut him up on the field not off the field.

BTW...The Bears still have a ****** offense and since scoring the most points is the object of the game, I'm not really all that concerned.

I don't call it smack when he backs it up with stats and facts.

    I'm just sayin'.

Like when a Raider comes back sayin' we never won the Super Bowl.

That's when they always have a point.

This time, it's up to us to turn things around and shut 'em all up.

    Oldie Out

    2003 we were 4-12.

We were fairly ****** at best.

This was the "let's draft another Qb because Brees f'n sucks" season.

This team is NOT that team, but awesome if Urlacher still feels it is.

Good luck Brian on Sept. 9th. You're all gonna need it.

That might have worked in 1985, the year after they won their last Super Bowl. Otherwise it doesn't mean sh*t. Comparing the 2007 Chargers with the 2003 Chargers is just asinine.

Unless Brian was talking about the preseason game last year. In that case, Tomlinson didn't play.. :icon_tease:

Wouldn't it be great if they played that commercial on the stadium screens during the commercial break prior to the kick-off.

    :)

Mr. Urlacher needs to remember to talk smack after the game. Doing it before the game is not only stupid, it's just asking for it. If him and his bores get punked, then he'll be the one with egg on his face. If that happens, I'd love to see the locker-room interview afterwards.

Thats a good one, had me crackin up! :icon_rofl:

Yes, this is a very different Chargers team, Urlacher is a great player, but this Bolts offense is the best I have seen in 30 years of watching Charger football... and wait until our defense gets to Grossman... :abq2: ... can't wait until the regular season...!

This is inane. Here's why Urlacher can't cite a game from 4 seasons ago, or even last year's preseason dance, as an indicator of what will happen in a few weeks:

1.) The game was uh 4 years ago. Almost nobody from that 2003 OL is on the 2007 OL now. I think our OL is just a little bit better than before.

2.) The game in 2003 was in Chicago. This year's game is in San Diego. San Diego is 19-5 at home over the past 3 seasons in the regular season. That's a 79% home winning percentage since the OL was revamped before the 2004 season.

3.) Drew Brees was replaced that game in favor of Doug Flutie. I don't see Rivers being pulled for Volek, unless he gets injured.

4.) The Chargers have Ron Rivera.

5.) The Bears have Rex Grossman.

Sometimes Rex Grossman is all the defense a Bears opponent needs.
