He's sorry that he was caught. That's all!
Otherwise, he'd be doing it right now.

I believe he is remorseful. If there was ANYBODY who's mighty ego got knocked down a few pegs, it was Vicks'.

I'm conflicted... but I definitely like what Goodell has done. Vick didn't just lie to the police or the public - he lied to the faces of both Arthur Blank and Roger Goodell when they asked him early on if he was involved in the dog fighting/racketeering/tax evasion/etc...

If I was running an illegal gambling operation on the side and got caught and my boss asked me "is it true? are you involved?" and I lied, got caught, admitted i lied and then went to prison for 2 years - do you think I'd get my job back?

The man "deserves" nothing accept the chance to get another job and start over like every other convict - but with this decision he can prove he's being honest and really is ready to get on the right track. Lucky for him and unlike other people who break the law, he gets to go back to a six-figure income and if he does stick to his word he will become a hero via redemption.

Plus, he's been out of football for 2 years - it's going to take some time before he's ready to dive in and play. I wouldn't expect to see him much on the field before week 6 anyway :icon_shrug:

It'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out - I'm just sick of the "he's a victim" crap. Don't insult my intelligence :p I know what he did and my opinions aren't soley based on the dogs he killed.

p.s. PETA needs to stay the f outta this btw - but they wont >< ugh

He's no one's victim except his own & I'll never have much respect for him again. You all know that I'm a dog lover & that part sickens me, but the lying until the very end was what really cemented it for me.

I am satisfied that he's getting another shot. Let's see what he does with it.

    TRUE.... TRUE

The NFL is a privledge.... A privledge he took for granted. How many of you would get your job back post felony conviction?

At least it's too late for Vick to fight the "Yo Quiero Taco Bell" dog...

Personally though, I'm rooting for Vick to turn this into a success story. I'd rather root for someone's life turning around for the better and having success then to crash and burn in failure.

I love dogs a lot, especially dogs like pitbulls, but I realize they're still animals. I'm hoping this somehow helps ends dog-fighting rather than encourage others to do it.

Vick working there would be a terrible idea; how is the sicko supposed to reform surrounded by dog meat tacos, burritos, and chalupas? Kfc is more up this failures alley.:icon_eek:

**** Vick his little remorse act is bs; I hope he gets back in the nfl so he can get his *** lit up by opposing defenses all season long. I honestly don't think he is relevant anymore on or off the field, and sincerely wish him nothing but continued failures.

Nothing new here, the NFL will always embrace ex-cons.

My only problem is it's a double standard. Forget Taco Bell or any other job if someone passes bad checks, serves their time, gets out and is truthful on his job application about being convicted of a felony.

Maybe not, but plenty around here & elsewhere seem to feel that he still needs to stand before a judge & jury.

You wanna take issue with the situation, send King Goodell a message. He makes the decisions. He has decided that Vick deserves another chance at the NFL.

For my part, I seriously doubt that a man of Tony Dungy's character would get involved if he didn't think Vick is worth saving.

All the talk of not being able to keep our jobs if we had committed this crime is just that - talk. Every situation is different & again - in this instance Goodell is the boss & he re-opened the door.

I have no problem with him being reinstated, but I do wish he fails miserably if he gets a chance, hopefully he doesn't even get that chance

So if he didn't get caught, he'd stop on his own... out of the goodness of his heart?

Sure... OJ didn't kill Ron and Nicole either.

If I were Arena League Football, I'd be working on a huge contract for him. Cause ESPN will cover all his games and they'll sell more tickets.

There's always the CFL. They don't seem to care what you've been busted for down here.

That was where I figured he'd get started back up. Wider longer field for him to work, less concentration on defense. He did his time. He's actually in a position to do some good at this point if he has it in him.
