My official stance on this topic....

    F VINCENT JACKSON

He will not be a Charger next year. He is playing this season out and getting the F out of SD.

All Aj/spanos have to do is cough up the dough. They won't and he'll go to the pats or something.

He is still no good to us for at least the next three weeks. That is, if he does sign next Friday... The bigger question is, who is going to play WR for the Chargers on Sunday? And will they show up and give us a game??

I have faith that Crayton will step up. This is his chance to poop or get off the pot.

Agreed about Crayton. I called it last week that he would have a good game. He will need a better one come Sunday. And with any luck, we get Naanee back too.

REad somewhere that Crayton & Goodman will have to step up. Should be interesting. Rivers may be able to pull a few rabbits out of the hat since NE may not give any of our WR's much attention. They may be playing us more for the run. So hopefully we can have some good come out of this (like a win).

lol really? Dude, he doesn't care about the pay cut. He was told by the players union that it was best for him to sign now and finish out the season so he can get enough games to be a UNRESTRICTED FA and get the hell out of dodge. Same reason why Mankins is getting ready to report.

AJ is a dick, and it's a major reason we still do not have a super bowl under our belt.

AJ is the reason this team is talented enough that people can cry about a talented team being ruined.

And I agree with you its just that of late (meaning the last 3 drafts exuding this years) AJ's drafts and managing skills of been put into questioning. Buster? Hester? Players you didn't expect be chosen in the first round. He's lack of signing free agents have been one of his downfalls and refusing to sign head coaches that well take control.

    I find it funny.

This would be like me winning the lottery and giving someone $1,000,000. But then I go to take $100,000 back and the person complains because I'm stealing a hundred thousand dollars from him.

Does AJ always make the best decisions? No.

Hell, I'll even go as far as to say his drafts have been lackluster as of late (while noting it's too early to tell on the last couple)

But to say he's the direct reason we haven't won a Super Bowl when he's a huge part of the reason we've even been in line to win one in the first place is a bit of a stretch, in my opinion.

Hester wasn't in the first dumdum. Also it takes a few years (3) to evaluate a draft

When has AJ ever made a big free agency signing?

I think his biggest free agency signing (in terms of big "name") was Steve Foley

I'll concede that he's had a couple mediocre at best drafts (a trend I really want to see stopped) but I'm not going to fault him for not building through free agency.

You build your team through the draft. You supplement through free agency.

To evaluate a draft as a whole, true, but a 1st round pick should making some contributions by their 2nd year, unless they are a QB

I bolded those who are still on the team and helping out. I also suggest all of you 'AJ hasnt picked well over the last X years' guys think for a bit. Those draft picks are not making it on this team because there are already better people ON THIS TEAM! It is not a bad draft, bring them in and see if they take the roster spot. If they dont send them packing. The Chargers do not have a lot of room to carry dead weight.

So perhaps someone should look at those vaunted GMs that everyone likes as see how they stack up to this one you are all bad mouthing. You might get an education.

You certainly make a good argument here, but I'm still not convinced with Buster after watching him drop so many passes this year.

He's "contributing" by default right now thanks to injuries.

I am not sold on Buster, never have been. But I am not at Charger park everyday seeing what the staff sees. As I have said before. I believe he has this season to prove himself. Sink or Swim...

I haven't seen him at practice either, but from what I have seen on the field he is sinking so far.

My bad. But it was stretch picking a fullback in the 3rd round. I understand he fits Norv's scheme but it was unnecessary seeing as we had Neal & Pinnock. 3 years? You don't need 3 years when you can see he has been awfully he's first 2 years here.

The only other one I remember is the Chambers signing which was really good.

    He actually traded for Chambers.

The last time AJ got any sort of impact from a free agent signing was in 04 when he signed Goff, Foley, and Godfrey
