Aaron Rodgers gets my vote. Can't be a homer.

Eh, Rodgers was playing Washington, that means he was practically gifted all those yards. People give Philly's D crap, but Washington makes them look like the best around.

Is what it is. I am sure some people vote for Clary to the pro bowl.

I guess it all depends on how you define "better." Rodgers threw for one more TD and 62 more yards in a game at home that was never really close. Rivers brought his team back after trailing in the fourth quarter in a game on the road that was a nail-biter throughout. I would give Rivers the edge due to his phenomenal QB rating on 3rd down.

That's a valid point, but they just highlight the stats, not the game situation.

No, you're an anti-homer. You're far more likely to judge a guy more harshly because he plays for your team. If things were reversed, you'd be making the argument that Rodgers stats were more impressive because he was playing on the road in a close game.

That's exactly my point. I'm not talking about the stats. I'm talking about who deserves to win the honor based on their performance. I have no doubt Rodgers will win, but you don't have to be a homer to think that Rivers' performance in Philly was more impressive than Rodgers performance at home against the Skins.

About 4 years ago, on the UT's website, I coined the term
"Marge" to denote those who were the flip side of Homers...

those who were as relentlessly, irrationally down on Chargers
as traditional Homers are relentlessly optimistic & irrationally positive about their team

I'm just annoyed by irrationality whichever direction it goes.

(I still remember one know-it-all type saying "Well, my definition of 'Marge' means..." and I just cracked up...
I was being lectured about the meaning of my phrase by someone who had heard it elsewhere, and was trying to school me...)
    :roflmao:
