Nope - I was setting right here watching the game on tele....

Oh - you mean Buster Davis.

    Sorry. ;)

OBTW, Buster has a dinged up ankle. He was suited up but glad to see Floyd in there blocking downfield for both LT and especially Michael Turner. The Rook will catch on that there is a lot more to WR in the Pro game than he is used to - but eventually he is going to be very, very good. He may eventually supplant your man EP.

Buster has more touchdown catches through 5 games than Parker did all of last year.

    Not bad for a rook...

DAvis may be the guy of the future--- but I'd like to see what Malcolm Floyd can do for a full season.

Yep. And, for what it's worth... Norv has already equaled Marty's win total in Denver as HC of the Chargers. shocking ain't it?

For some reason i dont think Rivers trust him

Davis has gotten open plenty of times this season but Rivers just never looks for him

Craig Davis has more TDs in his 5 game rookie season so far, than Eric Parker has in the last season-and-a-half.

 I have been of the opinion for awhile that this guy could be great, but there must be something going on that I don't know about, because the guy is rarely used.

He did not start or play on Sunday according to the ESPN stats. Probably due to his ankle injury.

Has your boy come out of the equipment shed yet or is he still in there nursing his vagina? :icon_shrug:

    Heh. ESPN is wrong.

I saw him out there on several plays. In fact, one of Rivers' incomplete passes was to Buster Davis in the endzone, where he overthrew him / led him too much.

You have to wonder if he is hobbled a bit. Rivers will go to Gates whenever he can because the guy catches almost everything thrown to him and most of which is thrown near him. Gates is THE money target in the NFL, especially now that he lines up as a receiver, making it possible for him to be considered for the pro bowl in two positions. Everyone else has to get in line behind Antonio, LT, and the Burner. Speaking of whom, when are they gonna' put those two consistently in the same backfield? We need to keep Michael.

what is pathetic is that the minotaur got on average 4 carries a game through the first 4 games. PA-THETIC  Michael is a better pure runner than LaDainian. Since everyone is ghee for LaDainian though I will lower my expectations and demand that Norv give Michael a minimum of 14 carries per game

I thought I saw him out there for a play or 2 but mostly I saw Floyd.

Then I saw the ESPN thing. Figures ESPN would be on top of things..

I hope CD becomes a great wr for this team, but I see no need to bash Parker, yes he had a horrible game in the playoffs but there have been many times when he bailed the offense with a huge first down catch, count me as one of his fans and hoping he can contribute this year

I don't even know how many times I have seen Parker on the end of a big 3rd down conversion. I grow weary of the people who want to judge him based on the Patriots game, those people just haven't been paying attention.

Me too in fact I like the thought of both Davis and Parker on the field together.

EP was clutch on 3rd down last year. :bolt:

Think of running a 4-wide spread offense with VJ, Floyd, Davis, Parker, and Gates as a 5th receiving option.

Yes, but you need have no receivers of NFL caliber and an absolute joke of an oline to complete the picture. Ahh, I can hear the QB screaming in pain now.

Ya but you guys are missing the point to this thread, Parkerfan wasnt saying that EP was a better option than CD but just the fact that Davis hasnt done anything! I have to say I agree, I mean granted he has an ankel injury, but you look at guys like Dwayne Bowe and CJ who are starters as well and are contributing like crazy hell Bowe single handedly beat us and Davis has 1 great play all year....guys this is our first round pick we are talking about who all of you who wanted a WR were creaming yourselves over it and he is a starter who doesnt make catches hell who rarely gets thrown to! Anyways lay off EP cause there are not many peeps I would rather have on third down than Parker!

Watch the games again. Watch how many times Davis gets open, but isn't thrown the ball.

He can't make catches if he isn't thrown to.

Bowe and Calvin Johnson have been thrown to about 4 times as much as CD has.

Yep...........anyone want to go back and count the number of plays Rivers has chosen to lock in on a receiver or Gates without checking off. Kills me, but PR is still learning to go through his progressions. He did a better job this last game, but definitely missed Davis a couple of times (including the one in the endzone).
Davis is a rook so he's not about to go to PR and tell him he "wants the damn ball" ala Keyshawn Johnson.

I got his point and I just threw a lob back at him since Parker is his boy. I like EP there on 3rd down. He seems to be able to find the open spots.

As far as CD, well, since the progressions in the chargers passing game go...

Gates, Gates, Gates, LT, VJ, CD...

You can see how he is not getting the ball thrown to him.

In KC they have D. Bowe or Gonzales set as the 1 and 2 reads on passing downs since he is the#1 WR on their team.

Also CD has seen the End Zone more times this year then Parker did in a whole season... :icon_shrug:
